Challenging, but worthwhile

Probably the most challenging Lego set I've put together. Many have complained about its durability during construction and while I did have several challenges, was able to get it together with only minor difficulties. Once the first half of it is complete (the "incomplete half", I highly recommend moving it wherever it will eventually end up, complete the final steps and finally attach everything to it. It will be difficult to move once it is complete.

My only two complaints are that the stage where you are to attach both portions of the incomplete half are difficult (I recommend super glue, since I found that until I got them both on, either of them fell off easily) and that I was shorted a bag of pieces and had to get replacements online.

Overall a challenging kit, but definitely worthwhile. One final bit of advice-during one of the first steps you attach the "steering wheel"-looking thing to the base. Make sure no prongs of this are covered by the support, or you will have to work backwards to uncover them.

Don't jiggle the table!

Santa brought this behemoth for our 8 year old this year. Translation- Dad spent 5 days at the dining room table with every bowl in the house being used to sort Lego's.
This kit is one of the older style kits. The bags aren't numbered or labeled with any sort of key. All 2000+ pieces needed to be sorted out for building ease.
When building the Death Star, have boxes handy to prop the model up. You build it one half at a time. (left-right)It tips over whenever you let go.
Our son loves the model, and was able to help with the building process, but it's only a matter of time and Nerf darts before it's back to square one.

best Christmas gift ever

I bought my 7 year old son the Death Star for Christmas. I was a little worried because I had read some of the reviews, but figured since he had built all of the other star wars lego's ships we would give it a try. I am so glad we did. It took him 2 1/2 weeks, but he finally finished it. It is something he accomplished all by himself and we couldn't be prouder!!!! It took alot of patience and was not easy. But if a 7 year old can do it so can you!!!!!

FANTASTIC KIT!

Bought this for my son for Christmas. What a great time he had putting it together....Every LEGO lovers dream kit!! Very cool. It holds together well without having to reinforce with glue like the other larger kits do.

Lego Star Wars Death Star 2 good experience

The Lego is fun to put together and takes a long time. But when it is all together it is VERY flimsy because the base isn't very large. I would recommend getting some extra black and gray Legos and making the base larger for better support.

My take on the Death Star

My son got the amazing Lego Death Star for Christmas this year and just loves Legos and builds them all the time. He is under the age recommendation to build this and found it very challenging and fun to build. It was a little annoying at times when it tipped over or when he couldn't get the lasers on. But, he finished it in about 9 hours and had a lot of fun building it. If he could change something about this Lego, it would be to make it a little more durable and more balanced while building it. Overall, he had fun and looking at this Lego is enjoybable because it is the cool result of hard work and aggravation.

star war mega lego death star

Original star war death star mega lego took one week to assemble by my diligent 13 year old. Now displayed in our home it stands 2'x2' and looks realistic. It was great fun to finish assembling between xmas and New years.

Lego Death Star

Really enjoyed building this model, but with all of the bigger models there are places that just are not made for a hand hold. The two sections of the unbuilt moon were difficult to attach because of all the small peices and no place to put your hand. I found that putting the bottom in first and then the top it went together all right. Nice kit and displays very well. Got it for a great price, you just can't miss with a Lego product.

Fun but not durable

I am twelve years old and have put numerous star wars sets together. This set took me four days and probably a total of 24 hours. The set is fun and educational but its not that durable and hard to move around. I thought it would be more challenging but I found the directions really by the book. It was really easy to put together and had a fun few days with it. Now I am looking for more of a challenging lego set. Maybe I'll be able to get the Milleniun Falcon for my birthday.

	Dora the Explorer Mr. Face Plush Backpack Review: My daughter is a big Dora fan and uses this backpack to carry around her favorite toys and books, which is why I gave it 5 stars for educational value. My friend's daughter has it as well, and love hers too. We've had it 6 months now and it's holding up just fine. The map opens up for an added bonus. My daughter likes to wear it and sing the backpack song from the show.
	Star Wars Episode III: Darth Vader Voice Changer Helmet Wow, do I ever wish they had this out when I was a kid! I bought it, and my wife, kids and I have all been playing with it. It has a chest box with several buttons that plays about 5 of Darth's quotes from the movies, or you can switch it to voice changer. The voice changer is fun! It has 3 different levels of depth for changing the voice. ... A must for Star Wars Geeks!!!!
