easy to (and should) have better design

Too many individual weights deal with. If you want to adjust the weight, takes way too long and too much trouble. The weights should be incremental. That is, why not have a 10#, some 5#, 2&1/2#, and 1# weights that are easy to take out and put back in. Otherwise, the adustablility is useless because of the difficulty and hassle of having to do 1# at a time. I returned this product because of this defect.

Shipped as promised, quick and efficient as ever. Item works great, construction is good quality. Only one thing.....boy is it heavy!!
Not quite one size fits all 2008-07-15
After looking around at these I decided to go with the gofit model because of cost. The X2 vests look better and like they are better quality. But after using this for awhile I was really impressed. It fits me perfectly. I'm around 5'11", 200lbs. One complaint I have is that it says it's one size fits all but my wife is 5'3", 120lbs. and it's like a dress on her. She might be able to use it for pullups or push ups but it would not be comfortable for much else.
The 40lbs weight is nicely distributed. It's a pretty hefty amount to do pull ups but I'm getting there. It's a reasonable weight for pushups, squats, lunges, etc. We've also been walking 2 miles with it and you can really feel it on the hills. But it doesn't slide around or annoy me. Overall when walking with it my shoulders feel more than my legs but I think they are getting more used to it as I am able to go a little further every day.
Overall this is a very good product at a good price. I paid 130ish at a brick and mortar.
!!!!EDIT *********** After less than a week the neoprene fastening straps are tearing and the neoprene on the inside is frizzing. I have to return the item. My thoughts are that Neoprene is not near strong enough for the 40 pound vest. I'd drop it down to 2** if amazon would let me edit that part.
Fastening straps are defective 2007-11-30
Fastening straps are not strong for 40lbs vest. They broke right off. As expected, with "one size fits all" it may not fit snugly. Look for better product, if one likes to use 20lbs or more weight.
A great calorie burner

This vest is as comfortable as 40 pounds of extra weight can be. The left side fastener ripped where the velcro seam ends. This appears to be a design flaw so there is no real use to return it for another as it will rip also. Still very usable and causing me to feel stronger every day. I walk four miles a day with it.
Good Product 2007-10-15
It was a good product to use during training while running and even playing small side soccer... It improves those twitch muscles that I normally can't work out without actually practicing.
Weight me down! 2007-09-07
Excellent product. Durable and has velcros for easy on easy off and makes it adjustble. Weights do not come out. So I got another vest for my son after he got used to the weight with one on.

This is DEFINATELY a great deal!! I researched prices for a 40 lbs vest, and the cheapest I could find was about $140.00 (excluding shipping) This vest is only $100.00 including shipping! The shipping value is $30, and it only took 11 days for me to revieve it!
When I opened the box to inspect, I noticed that the actual product is different from the picture. It has reflective strips on the front and the back, and also has a logo. Also the box for the vest has the same pic, but the actual product looks a lot better.
Also I thought I would be getting a vest with steel rods, but actually it has packets of steel pellets or something for the wieghts. It looks like it might be annoying to remove and replace so I didnt try to do it yet.
I will be using the vest while doing pushups, stair climbing, lunges, pullups, and possibly jump rope! So this was a good choice for me. I think f your planning to run with the vest, you should order a more expensive vest that more durable, and more comfortable for your shoulders. I am sure this would be fine for walking though!!

Great product for price 2007-07-03
I think this product is great for the price. If you have cash to burn and are a short person (I'm 5'2")- I would get a vest that has shoulder straps that adjust. When you carry the weight higher, it seems like there is less stress on your back.

Better than most all I've seen. Only improvement could've been a 2nd
velcro strap for a snug fit. Free shipping made this a steal. Great for changing weight from 20-30-40lbs.
