What can I dooooooo!!!!!!!!?????????? 2008-06-09
I'm from Brazil. My sub pack is broken.. after few monthes of use, I asked Amazon for send to My mother's hotel who is in N.Y. I gave my international card and for my surprise... they cannot sell my, because the brasilian adress.... I'm really nervous because there's no where to buy it in N.Y. stores.... just throw my X5 on trash...
I really agree and unterstanda with all of you, whorst in my case I even cannot buy it... no one no where sells it.
Dumb Dumb Dumb and more Dumb this sub pack

I LOVE my X5!! The subpack is awful, but it's no longer a problem 2007-10-07
I agree with the other reviewers about the subpack. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB! Without the subpack, the X5 was a potential iPod killer.

Without the subpack or X5 base you can't charge the X5. My subpack also broke (well, after 2 years) and it was awkward to use. The X5 base, in comparison, is solid (looks impossible to break), and it's fine on a desk for charging or file transfer or both, but it's not tiny. HOWEVER:

-- that subpack problem has finally BEEN SOLVED. Elsewhere on Amazon and other places can buy a USB cable that directly connects without the subpack, and it both charges, and can be used for file transfer

-- the X5 itself is *fabulous*! I've used mine for 2 years on many long bicycling trips. The little button didn't work so well at one point after keeping the x5 in filthy pockets, but a drop of oil and a little fussing with a pipe cleaner, and it was fine again.

-- I just bought the updated iPod Classic (Gen. 6) which has a much bigger and higher-res screen, larger (160gb v 60gb) hard drive. But the x5, which is technology that is 2 years older, is STILL better in lots of ways:

--- the X5 uses music files just copied over: no stupid lengthy procedure with copying over (which is needed with the iPod)

--- the x5 plays more music formats

--- the X5 toggle is superior to the classic's wheel

The bottom line: I STILL prefer my x5.

Horrible 2007-07-31
I hate everything about the Audio X5 (mine is barely limping around after owning for 1 year). The headphone jack is busted, and now this little thing broke. Worse, when I plug it in it gets extremely hot extremely fast and I'm sure if I hadn't noticed it would have burned my house down or at least destroyed what's left of my terrible little Iaudio. I'm really nervous about investing any more into this terrible product, but I guess I'll get the charging dock. This could be a huge mistake.

Very Bad Design 2007-06-08
If you have a Cowon Iaudio x5, x5L or M3 model then you know how dumb this subpack is. The most important connections of the player is shoved onto a small easy to loose fragile plastic add on. If you loose it or break it and you will sooner or later, you will be here buying one. Without this you won't be able to charge your player, transfer songs or connect it to another device for dubbing. The really bad thing about having to buy this subpack is that it seems that only Cowon is selling it on Amazon.
