The Basics

Hard Drive: The 60 GB hard drive (5400 RPM) is a bit smaller than average for current notebooks, but it's in line with comparable Tablet PCs. It provides enough capacity for storing documents, digital media files, and productivity software. This Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive also quickens the pace with a higher speed transfer of data--akin to FireWire and USB 2.0.
Processor: The Intel Core Solo T1350 processor is built with the Mobile Intel 945PM Express chipset, and it has a 1.86 GHz processor speed, fast 533 MHz front-side bus (FSB), and large 2 MB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance. The FSB carries data between the CPU and RAM, and a faster front-side bus will deliver better overall performance.) It delivers enhanced performance for today's demanding applications such as CAD tools, 3-D and 2-D modeling, video editing, digital music, digital photography and gaming. And Intel's Smart Cache technology enables smarter, more efficient cache and bus design for enhanced performance, responsiveness and power savings.
Memory: The 512 MB of built-in memory (2 x 256 MB, PC4200, DDR2 SDRAM) will get you started, and it does offer a very fast 533 MHz speed. But you'll want to take advantage of its expandability to 4 GB to handle today's demanding productivity and multimedia applications. Also, to receive the benefits of the dual-channel DDR2 RAM, any RAM additions require memory modules of same capacity and clockspeed.
CD/DVD Drive: With the included DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive, you'll be able to watch DVD movies as well as burn data and your favorite music mixes to CD. It has 24x write, 4x rewrite, and 24x read speeds for CDs, and a 16x DVD read speed.
