Can no longer recommend Quicken 2007-08-30
Unfortunately, Quicken has continued its decline with this release. There are significant problems with screen display updates (unless you like staring at a flickering display while you wait for it to update), and, most importantly, is is almost useless for investment tracking, due to frequent errors from Quicken's update servers. Their tech support is unresponsive (I suspect all off-shore), and this has been getting worse for the last year.

Anyone thinking of buying this should spend some time in the forums and see what issues users are having before making the decision to depend on this.

I speak as one who has used Quicken since the very early days, but I'm out of here unless they put some resources into fixing issues.

Lost eight years worth of investment data 2007-07-25
I am a saddened user of Quicken. I have recently lost eight years worth of investment data tracked by this software. I have understood pretty much all of the features, done 100% of my banking and investments there; have been backing my files up diligently at the preferred service `Connected'.

The tech support person has explained to me that sometimes the backup files get corrupted, and there is no way of bringing the correct information back. It appears that there was nothing I could have done to prevent this. There is no way of knowing when the corruption of the backup files starts, because the working screen is all correct.

I have received a polite "Sorry about the inconvenience". Now, I will have to start over using Microsoft Excel.

I will miss the one-screen preview of my total financial status, though.

A real pain to use 2007-07-18
I wish I hadn't bought this product, but now that I have it, I'm kind of stuck. It's enormously unintuitive. It only fitfully downloads information from my bank account. It won't let me delete old, defunct accounts. It's difficult to navigate its menus. But, I will keep it since it lends some organization to our finances.

Don't Do It!! 2007-06-23
We have used Quicken for years. Now with 2007 we have hit some problems for which there seems to be no fix. The worst thing is the support. All support is done in India, I don't care about that, but I do care that the support people are ill-trained, are not familiar with what the program does and cannot answer simple questions with correct answers. I have had nothing but trouble trying to find out when a simple check printing problem will be fixed, if ever. I would stay with the older version, if it is working for you and don't waste your money.

Great for home finances 2007-06-23
I find this software to work fantastic for my bank records, investments and really enjoy the budgeting capabilities. I have used both Money and Quicken. In my honest opinion, either will suit your needs for home finances. I like 2007's home view, as it gives you a snapshot of where you stand financially for that particular day, and you can look at a graph and see where you'll be for the month. Getting set up is easy, and entering recurring transactions is pretty simple. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that it can get a little bulky when you delve into some of the reports. A little more simplicity, maybe even some cookie cutter reports, would make viewing some of the financial reports a little easier. Overall, if you are not using either Quicken or Money, you should try one of them out, it really makes life a little easier.

Not Bad 2008-04-01
It's ok, does what it is intended for but just not for me as I realized I won't use it and had little interest in getting involed in the many features it has but to someone who is financially inclined and does allot with there money and needs organization and or connecting accts and tax stuff this may be good for you.

very buggy 2007-11-08
I've been using Quicken for many years. While I like the interface, it has been getting more and more buggy just about every year. The 2007 version is the worst I have used so far. And their technical support is not good at all. Eventually they may help solve a problem, but it's only after many tries.
Also if you are getting the premier version because of the investment management there's 1 bug they already told me they cant (or wont) fix. When you try to drill down into your asset allocation to understand a certain asset class, it always includes the cash asset class along with the one you really are trying to look at.

Turn and Run 2007-10-14
I've used Quicken for years. The 2004 worked wonderful. Then, Quicken automatically shut down this year and forced me to buy an upgrade. I hate upgrades but I had to get Quicken 2007 since I had years of financial history. The 2007 upgrade sucks. Checks were reported as written to unknown parties. I thought somone stole my identity. Forget about asking Quicken for help. One day I spent four hours with my banker trying to figure out the problem. Calling Quicken is like calling the moon -- forget it, Quicken, don't just walk, run from this upgrade.

Just what I Need 2007-09-03
Quicken Premier has everthing that I need to stay on top of my Financial picture. The other products that Intuit makes may be better for more professional users but this works well for me.

Intuit continues its streak of terrible products 2007-08-31
Intuit continues its streak of terrible products, August 30, 2007

I have purchased Quicken 2005, 2006 & now 2007. I should have learned; Intuit doesn't care about improving their products; just selling them. And, what you have a problem with their buggy softare? Get out you credit card and pay $29.95 to speak and listen (carefully at that because the person is in India - can you say impossible to understand on the telephone) and be told that the problem is with your file. Oh, wow great but I thought it was your software. The truth is it is the software; full of more bugs than a 10 day old animal. Don't take my word for it; look at the forums under quicken.com. Thousands of disgruntled users. Where are those class action lawyers when we need them!
