I am a fan of the show and had to purchase this CD when it came out. I was completely surprised how professional and wonderful it was! For 5 brand new 'stars' they knocked this out of the park!

This is brilliant. I got both cds of DK together but had always listened to this one online. It's an amazing initial effort from DK, it's a new born masterpiece :) but I love the 2nd album even more

Yes!!! This is a right mix of Pop music, R&B and I think a little of Soul... Danity Kane are very good and energetic in your interpretation of song!!!
From Welcome to the Dollhouse

I had to check out this CD after listening to "Welcome to the Doll House" to see if this one could top it. "Welcome to the Doll House" is better, although "Show Stopper" is my favorite of both CDs. "Sleep On It" brings the funk, and I love Aundrea's voice on the beginning of "Hold Me Down," but the rest of the songs were soft and pretty. I'm not knocking soft and pretty, but I like this group better doing dance, upbeat tracks the way they said they wanted to on Making the Band, Season 4. This CD is the type of album that you listen to on a rainy or relaxed day. Some songs hit the mark of being neosoul, such as "Want It," and their voices sound great on each track.
An Album I listen to the Whole Way Through 2008-03-24
We all know these girls from MTV's Making The Band with Diddy. I watched all the seasons they have been on and wanting the girls to do well. It helps that their music is great. I have bought their albums in stores and picked them up on mp3 for my cell phone, so I can listen to them when I want. I have my favorite tracks like Ooh Ahh and Stay With Me, but that doesn't even including like 5 tracks you'll hear from the show. I listen to this song while driving to work. Good beats and lyrics. Lots of danceable music. You get the best value by getting the entire album.
VERY GOOD FOR A FIRST TRY!! 2008-03-24
Making the Band is back for Season 3, and you better believe the drama runs deep. This album is the music hard work of five girls handpicked by Sean "Diddy" Combs for his all-new pop group which was recorded while they were living together in a luxury Soho loft and prepared to go on tour.
One of my fav cds! 2008-03-21
This came out awhile ago but it is still one of my favorite cds! I can play whole cd without skipping. It is a shame that more songs weren't released as singles!
Also: Their new cd is hot too!
Surprisingly good! 2008-03-17
I only bought this cd after listening to it for free on MTV's "The Leak" a while back. I was very surprised and somehow really drawn to it. I mainly like dance music anyways and this is a great dance cd! I was surprised however that more videos weren't made for this album. There are about 5 'Top 10' hits on this record but oh well! For a first album by a bunch of rookies I give it 5 stars. I guess being formed by Puff, who has a ton of connections, made the world of difference! Great album, can listen to it the whole way through... something a lot of albums don't have anymore! Looking forward to the next installment :)
A Little Surpised, But Still Enjoyed 2008-02-07
I have to admit that I was not in love with watching these girls on MTB. I thought that album would be horrible and did not buy it at first.
But, after the first single, I was impressed. But, still felt the CD wouldn't be that good. I wasn't half wrong.
The album is a great introduction to who these women are, and what they can do. I feel that Andrea is the definate lead, but Dawn is a close second for me. The sound of the album is what I expected--an infusion of pop and R&B. Diddy is good for this type of infusion.
Vocally, they mesh well. And the album gives each of them a chance to showcase their individual talent. It's expertly produced.
However, the last half of the album is a little ill-fated. It seems as if they had 9 good songs and didn't know how to fill the remainder of the album. The lowest point of teh album is "Sleep On It."
However, the overall effect is accomplished and this is a female group that with some fine tuning could be a force to be reckoned.
I hate this CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girls are pretty, but this release feels super empty.
The lyrics are bland, and the production is all over the place!
How any sane person (especially males) could get into this crap, is beyond me.
I was actually rooting for them on the show though; they seemed to get closer as girl after girl left the group. I wanted the Pisces, Dominique to make it so, so bad because although she was no dancer, she had one of the best voices on the show!
Anyway, glad Aubrey made it; she was the prettiest, had a nice, like-able and friendly demeanor and she could sing decently.
I guess Show Stopper is solid. No substance, no depth but it's fun and it's catchy. I give them points for this one.
The rest is **** though.
Don't buy this.
Here's some advice. When you go shopping, and you come to the music section, don't even look at this damn thing!! It's phony, generic and quite soulless.
1 star. Wish I could give it less...
