Easy to use 2007-02-16
As a first time video camera owner I found this camera simple to use and intuitive. I turned it on out of the box and just started to use it without needing to read any instructions. Simple!

Sony DCR - SR 80 2007-02-08
This camera has been great. I haven't used it to much but the times that I have its been really nice, the quality of the movies are really good. I also liked that I didn't need any tapes. That would have been a big hassle. The main reason this camera was purchased was because I was getting married and it did the job quite well. I would recommend if you doing any outside filming that need sound of other people to get a microphone. I received one free from amazon when I bought the camera. It was made by Sony for the camera. I would recommend this camera to other people.

Great camcorder! 2007-01-31
I had such a hard time choosing the right hard drive camcorder! According to most of the comments on the web all HD camcorders are of poor quality, or have software problems or something else. So i had to decide myself at the end and I converged on this one, which was a great pick, so easy to use, of incredible quality, and so far no problems with burning the DVDs! Slight compatibility problems between the existing burning software present on my laptop and the Sony software... But once solved, I love it and I love the touchscreen! I got the whole package with an extra battery, but I still haven't used it! The battery lasts pretty long.

works great 2007-01-30
If you want an easy to use camera just to do the basics, this one is great. It's lightweight, and the one touch DVD burn is a really nice feature. The image quality seems fine-no complaints so far!

Review: ... "Click! The No Nonsense Guide to Digital Cameras" is misnamed. It covers a lot more than just cameras. In a couple of hundred pages, it includes using a scanner and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 to rescue faded, damaged family photos, the basic guidelines to good picture taking, how to use Elements 2 to improve your digital photos, and how to print and preserve your pictures for the ages. White, the author of the bestseller "How Computers Work," knows how to pack a lot of helpful, understandable information in a brief no nonsense book.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."

From the Back Cover The megapixel hype
The fact is a camera’s megapixel rating is only a measure of how many pixels (photosensitive sites) an image sensor has…. An image sensor is simply one component of an entire system that produces a digital photograph… So resist buying into the megapixel hype when you’re choosing a digital camera. From Chapter 1
