This is a great rail for in-home elder care if you don't have or need a hospital bed. The product description does not indicate the minimum height of the box spring, in order for the rail to clear the floor when folded down. Our low-profile box spring is 13" off the floor, which is not high enough to be able to fold it down completely. Luckily, we were able to use it without that function, by moving the rail as close as possible to the head of the bed. You should have at least 14" to the top of the box spring to use that function. Other than that, the retractability of the rail is just what we needed, to allow our elder to get in and out of bed. I would rate this 5 stars if the rail had been a bit lower in height. Not everyone has super thick box springs and mattresses. Of course, bed risers would solve this if you didn't want the rollers on the bed frame to function. We just didn't want a higher bed, hence the lower box spring.

Purchased this for my father who is in a retirement home, to assit him getting in and out of bed. Very sturdy. My father just loves it, he can't say enough about it.

Nice and Sturdy Bed Rail

The Standers EZ Adjust Bed Rail is very sturdy and easy to install on the bed. I got this one for my 85 year old Mother. It makes it easier for her to get in and out of the bed. She just loves it.

Standers Bed Rail Solves Problem

Elderly male with Parkinson's Disease was falling out of bed on a regular basis. His most recent fall resulted in a trip to the emergency room requiring 10 stitches. We installed Standers EZ Adjust Bed Rail on both sides of bed about a month ago and we haven't had a single incident of him falling out of bed since. Needless to say we're very pleased with the product.

Since installing the Standers EZ Adjust Bed Rail,, my 75yr. old mother (who is unable to walk on her own) has not once fell/rolled out of bed. It also keeps her in the bed during the day with it's adjustable length. It took about 5 minutes to install on her King size bed. It fits every size bed. It has been a life saver

I ordered this item for my dad who is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and we became worried about his falling out of bed. As always, I turned immediately to amazon.com and after some perusing and lots of reading, I didn't hesitate to place my order for this product. Also, and as usual, amazon.com offered this product at the best price.

Elder Care Savior

My 93 year old father in law recently fell (luckily didn't serioiusly injure himself) twice in one week. After many tests, it turned out to be arithmia. He asked for a bed rail. After much research, the Standers EZ seemed to be the right one. It arrived quickly from Amazon, was easy to assemble and it works way beyond our wishes!

After my mom fell off of her bed a couple of times, I decided that I needed to purchase a bed rail for her (whether she wanted one or not). And, since she had a king size bed, I also needed a rail that could cover enough of the bed, so that she wouldn't slip past the railing (or that the rail wouldn't easily slide away from the bed). Thankfully, this is the bed rail that I purchased on the first try. While even at it's shortest setting the rail is wide enough to cover quite a bit of the bed, I can still extend it if I need to. Plus, the bars that slide between the mattress were quite stable even without the use of the strap--the king size mattress was too heavy for me to maneuver. (Don't worry, I tested the rail before I allowed my mom anywhere near it, if it can sustain my pulling, it will definitely not budge when she uses it). This item was easy for me to assemble, and worked like a charm. Need I say more?

helpful to keep some one safe

This is a great idea when you need a rail that is a little longer. You can use the longer lenght while asleep. Slide it back shorter to make it easy to get in and out of bed. This has helped keep my mother from sliding out of bed since she tends to sleep right on the edge. It is very easy to adjust.

This Bed Rail Does Its Job

We purchased this for my 92-year-old Mom-In-Law's bed. It is doing a good job. We no longer need worry about her rolling out of bed. It also is help for her as needed support when getting in or out of her bed. Highly recommend it for anyone caring for elderly parents or friends.
