Buy it. Love it. Forget it. 2008-06-30
This superb printer does its job so painlessly and consistently that I never ever think about it. Today I realized I really should share with the Amazon crowd just how great it is.

It prints beautifully and quietly, faxes effortlessly, doesn't use up much ink, doesn't take up much space, and pretty much just keeps to itself. No paper jams and very easy ink replacement (the few times you'll need to do it).

Beware Printer Eats Ink 2008-06-22
This would be an excellent printer if it would print in black only, but apparently it will not. After many attempts to get the printer set up to use only the black cartridge for black printing it is becoming obvious this printer was made to eat all the color tanks. I have had to replace the color inks numerous times while printing in B&W, even though Canon site claims that you can set it to use only black. It does not work. This printer is an expensive ink hog and I do not recommend it. Just my opinion of course.

Don't buy this JUNK!!!!! 2008-06-22
I have had this printer for almost a year and have spent more money on the ink tanks than the printer itself. It constantly gives error messages about the ink......this is low.....that is low....its in the wrong spot....then after taking it out and putting it in again....it will print a few pages and next day the same thing. Sometime I would not touch it and few days later it would start working again.
Once I repalced all the tanks at once just to see what happens. It worked for two day and the same thing started...............
This is the WORST printer I EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Canon Pixma MP530 2008-06-17
So far so good on this printer. It was easy to set up, prints photos beautifully. I have not had to change any ink yet so I do not know how many documents can be printed.

High Mantenaince! 2008-06-12
Worst printer I ever bought. From day one it had constant erroneous errors...stating that there were more than one cyan ink tank installed when there was not, stating that the ink cartridges were empty when they were not. I am constantly lifting the cover and fiddling with the ink tank just to get the damn thing to reset and print. Sucked up entire ink tank in 2 weeks of use...and I do not print very much!
Save your money and your aggrevation and buy an HP!

Decent printer, very expensive cartridges 2008-07-25
I wanted an all-in-one printer that printed graphics and paintings well, and included a good scanner, and could also fax in a pinch. This device fits that bill (although the color on the scanner is a little jacked sometimes).

The printer takes a long time to get started, but once it goes, it prints quickly enough. I like the way the feeds work and I haven't had a jam. I've printed watercolors with this, and the look like they were hand painted. I'm completely satisfied with the quality. I don't print photos, as I think it is a lot faster easier and cheaper to let Snapfish or Kodak do that for me, but for art projects, it is great.

The problem with this printer is that the cartridges are ridiculously expensive. Replacing all 5 cartridges costs at least $50. That is crazy! In addition, refilling cartridges is difficult due to their rather draconian chips. I'm not sure what brand is better, but buyer beware the cartridges on this otherwise nice product.

great all in one 2008-07-18
always had good luch with canon and the tradition continues. Great all in one at a great price

Great Printer when it works. 2008-07-17
I purchased my Canon in December of 2006 and used it often for about 2 to 3 months then it shut down and would not come back on no matter what I did. I took it in for Warranty repair and it seems that the warranty repair company had to replace every component in the machine. After almost 2 months I got my printer back and it worked for a couple more months and then quit completely again. The printer I purchased was brand new however my only choice was to have it repaired again or have Canon sent me a refurbished one. Which at this point I decided that a refurbished one might be my best bet. I was not happy that I would receive a refurbished printer either, after all, it was only a couple months old. I then received my refurbished printer in a couple of days and everything has worked fine until about two months ago when I started having ink cartridge issues. Only two of the cartridges will light up unless I fiddle with them until I get them all to light but the first three, from left to right, are not brightly lit like they were previously. Now it is no longer useable as it continuously shows that the ink cartridges are low even after changing them and my fax has stopped working also. I loved the features for the price and the quality of the printing but I am now very unhappy with this printer because of all the problems and hassles I have had with it and it is now out of warranty so what good is it to me? I have had a Canon printer previously and never had any issues with it.

Just got this all-in-one a little while ago. Haven't tried all
the features yet, but its been GREAT!! so far.

Worst printer I have ever owned 2008-07-02
After less than a month, the cartridges started sending error messages, Replaced all of them with no resolution. Printer will not work at all now. I have owned dozens of printers and this is the worst.
