I love Dragon Naturally Speaking 2008-06-19
I found this program to work wonderfully. Well worth the price. Before purchasing, I viewed an hour demo during a meeting of the Tampa PC Users Group. It was very impressive.
The more I use the program the easier it becomes to take advantage of its features.
The feature that sold me is the ability to import from a digital recorder. Also being able to jump in and use it without having the do an initial training session is also a feature that I found useful. Although to take advantage of the digital recorder feature does require a lengthy training session, it is well worth the time spent.

Good Product for the visually disabled person 2008-06-18

Naturally Speaking 2008-06-09
Basically the same as MS's version, but is easier to train. Still sounds like a machine, and doesn't answer back.

Excellent product 2008-06-04
As is typical for Amazon the product came quickly and the Dragon software has been very impressive. Very happy that I purchased it.

Not recommended at all. Junk! 2008-05-31
I write a lot of things on my computer. Thought I would improve my speed with this software. It is actually slowing me down. I received it in December, and have been using it almost daily to dictate. I am so unhappy with it, I just cut my losses. These folks will never give me my money back. After 5 months, it is still continuously misspelling a huge amount of words, and the punctuation is pathetic. I spend more time correcting words, upper and lower case, and punctuation. It is completely useless for me. I just recently dictated an e-mail to a friend, without making any corrections, and when I was finished, it made absolutely no sense. What good is a program, where I have to spend more time making corrections, that the original composition took. And this is not because I am not able to follow directions. I speak very clearly and concisely, and after the 5 month's, it is still not able to serve me right. I feel ripped off by this software, and would not recommend it to an analphabet.

So far worth the investment 2008-07-13
I just bought this product today from target for $30. And I learned how to use it within about 15-20 minutes. It was easy to install and set up. I read through the negative reviews and if people don't know how to set this program up then they must be computer illiterate. It types a lot faster than I can, and I type almost 90 words per minute. By the time I finish my statement, 1-2 seconds later, the sentence is typed. I am using it right now to write this review. I have only had to make one correction. It is very accurate. And will make my life a lot easier, since I have to have so many typed reports. As stated, it's worth it!
(and it's pretty cool)

Very Nice 2008-07-12
I love this product. A nice surprise was the text to speech feature. I would recommend this product to anyone. The price on Amazon was the best also.

hardware sensitive? 2008-07-11
Please add to your reviews, the amount of memory (RAM) your system has, processor speed, and operating system. If unsure then include the year of purchase. There is usually a correlation between quality and hardware when using software of this type (resource hog). Will write/ dictate a review in a few days. Ignore the rating

Dragon Naturallly Speaking difficult to train 2008-06-27
I purchased the program for use dictating common conversational information into my new electronic medical record (I am an Internist). I have been going through the tutorials repeatedly and, though I feel like I am being consistant, will sometimes get the commands to work and sometimes get them typed into my note. It does get most of my dictation correctly the first pass but the editing functions need work

You Will Need to Buy New Headphones 2008-06-22
First, let me say that I've only had this product for 10 hours. So far, it's fairly accurate and I expect that it will increase in its accuracy as it learns and I learn. While the headphone works, I find it uncomfortable. I think I have an average-size head :-), but the headphone seems as if it'd be very comfortable on a ten year-old's head. As an adult, I find that it squeezes. I would imagine that this is a complaint that many will have; thus, my recommendation would be that you be prepared to buy new headphones. Now, I'll probably be spending hours at a time using Dragon; but if I were only going to use a total of an hour or two per week (and no more than 30 minutes at a time), I could survive w/out new headphones. Anyway, the good thing is that you won't need to purchase any new headphones before deciding how you feel about the one included in the product.
