nice travel item

i bought it for hotel rooms, waterparks, the beach, out of town getaways where you want your music. can be rigged into bigger system if you want, or you can plug in to the aux line in minijack -- i've used it to run my vestax handytrax turntable into. sounds pretty good for a tiny little boombox. get the more expensive one WITH power supply INCLUDED -- great for charging iPOD. when you run on batteries, it doesn't charge the iPOD.
poor controls, too much trouble to use

It's adorable and I think it sounds okay when it works.
I have 3G Nano 8 and have to reset my ipod to use it and be sure it's fully charged. The unit doesn't come with the ac adapter, but they'll sell it direct to you for 21.99 (no s&h) tho. I am disappointed. I am going to try it with the adapter and report back.

Simply awful 2008-01-25
This seemed an interesting speaker system for on the go. I agree that the control buttons are temperamental however the sound completely sucks. There is NO BASS to speak of and it sounds like an old transistor radio and not a good one at that. This baby is going back first thing in the morning. If you buy it, I urge you to save the receipt as this is a for sure round trip ticket item.
Very fun little speaker system 2007-11-15
I got this for my 11 year old daughter, it is perfect as she can carry it around and play her music anywhere. the sound isn't perfect, but sounds good.
Great for the beach

I bought the stereo case for my beach vacation & I used it every day. It kept my iPod safe from the elements & everyone in my group liked the sound. It even worked well as a player in my bedroom. Several people used it to charge their iPods while on vacation. No problems. I'm looking to buy a few more for Christmas presents.

Poor Quality 2007-07-15
I've had two of these in less than 2 weeks. The first one stopped working with a burning smell. The second one worked less than 5 minutes out of the box and then the speakers starting making funny clicking noises.
I'm returning it too and will look elsewhere for portable iPOD speakers.
Unreliable 2007-03-11
After my purchase (from the Apple website), I was pleased with the system. It's not the best design but it is portable in ways other iPod systems are not; HOWEVER, the speakers began to malfunction within three months. That is within the warranty period but I had to contact the manufacturer directly for service. Four emails later I have STILL not gotten a response from iHome. Very poor customer service!!
Love it 2007-01-08
This is the best iPod accessory that I own.
1. The form fitting, water resistant case holds the iPod securely.
2. The unit is very lightweight and the carrying strap makes it easy to haul around.
3. While the iPod is secure, the innovative zipper design makes it easy to open and access the iPod. Although most basic functions can be performed without opening the unit.
4. The battery life is fantastic! I've had mine for over two months and have not yet needed to replace the four AA batteries. Although I do sometimes run off AC.
5. When running off AC, it charges the iPod. Very handy alternative to plugging it into the computer.
6. It comes with straps to secure the unit to a pole or fence or whatever. I don't use that much, but I can see how it could be handy for some.
The only thing I don't care for is the bright, blue LED on the front. It's a bit too bright for my taste, as I often listen to music or audio books when I'm going to sleep. In a dark room, that thing is bright enough to use as a small flashlight. Eventually, I put a piece of electrical tape over it. But I'm kind of finicky about that sort of thing. I like to sleep in a really dark room. My kids actually like the light, as it works as a night light.
Overall, I've been thrilled with the unit. I'm very happy I bought it and would highly recommend it to others.
