My son is 22 months old and just loves music. Ever since he saw his first guitar being played, he has done the cutest littke "air guitar" imitation. We got this for his birthday but couldnt wait to have him open it.... So, he LOVES it. I tuned it with some help online, but it doesnt stay tuned very well, of course my son is a little tough on the strings, so what can I expect.
A toy, but definitely fun for toddlers

We bought this guitar for our 2 1/2 year old daughter for Easter after she became enamored with a Dan Zanes DVD she received at Christmas. After a few minutes of hesitation she began playing it and dancing around. She now loves playing along with the concert video (her guitar is "just like Dan Zanes'") or by herself. She even took it to the local library when they had a children's musician play there. She played along from the front row. Some reviews talk about the strings not staying tight. I believe those people didn't tighten the screws on the tuning knobs. Once you do that the strings stay tight enough for "play" if not for "playing".
Overall we love this guitar and hope it will provide a mechanism for our daughter Anika to seriously take up an instrument once she's older.
I knew it would be cheap, but wow, is this thing cheap.

I got this guitar for my 16-month old son who is obsessed with my guitars. When he started to use an animal cracker as a pick, I decided that I needed to get him a guitar that was real enough that he would still be interested, but cheap enough that it would not upset me when he destroys it. This little guitar is certainly cheap. It is not tunable, and the bridge is not even attached. So, if you're hoping your child might actually play a tune on it, forget it. If you are looking for a guitar that would be good for storing Fisher-Price people, or unwanted food, go with this one.
Very pleased

This little guitar was a perfect size for my 2 year old nephew. He loves it and plays with it all the time. This may guide him into being a gutar player. The price, quality and shipping speed was great. Thanks
not great, but useable...

There are lots of complaints about this guitar. It's cheap, the components are flimsy, the strings are basically unusable, but here's the thing: there are ways that you can make it a completely functional child's or toy guitar. The tuners have phillips head screws on the back. If they don't stay put, just tighten the screws! If the bridge slips when you replace the strings or de-tune them for any reason, crazy glue it into place! I am going to put some uke strings on it so it sounds goofy and hawaiian. not a guitar i would gig with, but if you are going to pay less than 30 bucks for a musical instrument, than you have to expect that it isn't going to be a beautiful piece of work. with a little modding, it can be more than it is out of the box.
DISSAPOINTED

Having 2 boys who love guitars, this one looked great and although my 2 year old likes it, it's really poorly made. Yes, he's rough with it, but the strings won't stay tuned and tight no matter what we do. Our 3 year old has the First Act guitar and he too is rough with it, but it holds up amazing. Feel like I through money in the trash by getting this guitar.
Not impressed

The item was shipped quickly which was nice, but it is dinged up and the strings broke the first time my 7 year old played it. It was inexpensive but I expected more from the product. I don't recommend it.
Looks good but doesn't play a tune

This guitar looks like a mini acoustic but the bridge is not even glued into place and you cannot tune the strings at all. My 3 yo is going to be disappointed. Cannot believe how cheap this guitar is!
Toddler Guitar is Great

My son is 2 1/2 yrs old and absolutely loves to sing and dance. This guitar is like his dad's and they "jam" together. Sometimes he just loves to hold it and listen to music as if he's the one playing. I think its great because it is genuine and isn't like his other plastic, gadgety guitars. He has learned to take care of it and loves to show it off. The company we purchase it from has outstanding and responsive customer service. I wanted to buy additional strings and they quoted me a price right away and I had them within two days. Just great!
