Daughter saved her own money to purchase this. It worked for 3 days. If it were available, I would give it 0 stars.
Awesomest game in History (according to my son)

Greatest game ever for DS. It helps you get ahead in your DS games by giving you cheats/pointers to win.
A dream come true...

My son wanted so badly this product to hack his Pokemon game. The product is good, delivering what was promised, although there are some hacks that get lost after powering down de Nintendo DS. The software installs OK on WinXP, but the instruction booklet is a bit confusing, for example: it is not clear that the Action Replay DS must be inserted in the Nintendo DS, with the cable attached to the device and plugged into a USB slot on your computer, and the Nintendo DS must be then powered on for your computer to "see" it and to enable you to update the device... Updating the codes from the web only worked from codejunkies.com website, but this worked fine.
Good buy!
The people who complain is doesn't work ARE right. Kinda.

First, a preface:
Father's day is here and my 11 year old has been giddy all weekend because she has gotten me the perfect gift. She's went to three different stores to find one with it in stock (she doesn't have a credit card, so no amazon) and found it. Took it out of the obnoxious hard plastic shell the put it in, repackaged it, and on sunday morning was so excited. And so was I, I'd been talking about getting one for a while.
And here my troubles began.
Break it out and start following the directions on the package to install the software. Seems to go very smoothly. No problems. Install the driver after plugging in the device through the supplied USB cable. No problem. Open the software and then attempt to connect to the AR. No joy. Double check the driver. All good there. Hrm, I'm already on XP (so anyone thinking vista, quit) but decide to try it on another PC. Same thing. Seemingly smooth installation, but no joy on linking the software with the AR. I'm getting really worried I'm not going to make it work and that it's going to bum my daughter out who went through a lot of trouble to get this for me, so I persist. Manufacturers web site -- 2 faq entries, neither helpful. I can call (tommorow) or email. No way. Start search the interwebs, nothing. Finally I come up with the magic search terms (1.60, which is the revision ended up being what helped) and then find a gem of a post on yahoo answers. Someone else had had the same problem and gotten an answer from codejunkies.
And the problem: Whoops, we put the wrong software on the CD we sent out with the AR.
"FIRMWARE VERSION 1.60 OR ABOVE
Unfortunately, the incorrect drivers were included on the Action Replay DS disc that came with your product. "
This email you will get from codejunkies will have a URL to install the correct version (with instructions). Went through this process and IT WORKED.
But the rub is that I had to scour the internet to eventually find this. Nothing listed in the support FAQ pages at the codejunkies site. So basically if you buy one of these today you're going to HAVE to get technical support (or for you folks at home put 1.60 in with your "ar will not connect" search term) to make the thing work. It sucked.
Oh, works great now that it's installed, but sheesh!
Url to instructions and link to fix (hopefully this is not considered spam and removed):

Came quick but it's confusing.
2008-06-08
The item came quickly, which surprised the hell out of me since I didn't even get an email that said 'Your order, number [whatever] has been shipped!'
BUT I must be the ONLY person who can't get this! I'm frustrated. I don't know what I did, but all it wants to do now is update. It's on that screen on my DS for ever and nothing happens. I can't figure out how to get the codes to work since I can never get the 'GO!' Icon you're supposed to see. And I can't figure out how to make anything work.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, but I can't get it to do anything. If anyone has any suggestions, tips or advice, I'll take it. I want to be able to USE the codes/cheats I bought the thing for. x_x
Fantastic

Action Replay for Nintendo DS is pre-loaded with totally unauthorized cheats for all of the latest and greatest Nintendo DS games. Plus as new games are released, the Action Replay can be updated with even more codes via a USB connection.
Never Worked

Installed SW on Windows XP, it recognized the Action Replay but the Action Replay refused to recognize the PC. My son still wanted to use it since it comes pre-loaded with "cheats" but then it lost all its memory. It is now an Action Return.
It was fun while in lasted...

When I bought this product, I was very happy. But while I was playing the game(I was using the run through anything cheat for pokemon diamond) the game suddenly went blank. When I reset it, the game worked, but I could no longer ride my bike, fly on my pokemon, catch pokemon, etc. I could only run, trade and battle. Even my friends had their games ruined and wasted about $[...]. I wish I could go back in time and buy a new game instead. If you ask me about the product, I would say either buy a video game or burn your money because the action replay is a waste of money. After reading other reviews from other places, I would suggest to not plug it in your computer either because I heard one guy got their computer busted, which means they lost about $[...]. To make it short and to the point, it is a waste of money. I would give this product a negative 1 billion if i could. Luckily, after ruining my pokemon game, I did'nt put in any other games in the action replay. My rating is a big, fat ZERO!!!!!

I bought this product after reading all the reviews and was a little nervous. My nephew came over and had it and my daughter had to have it also. We purchased it and as I was reading the instructions I was totally confused. I basically just installed it and figured it out on my own. Wasn't too difficult - maybe because I wasn't following the directions.
My daughter now plays with games she had given up on and hadn't played with in months because she couldn't get past the harder levels...it makes the games much more fun and less frustrating. I would recommend this item just don't let the instructions discourage you. And I have a Windows XP and didn't have any problems installing it.
