Reminton No Better than a mid-priced Norelco

After considerable research I decided to purchase this shaver over the Norelco rotories. My main goal was to obtain a shaver that would cut the hard to cut areas under my chin. My previouse Norelcos were good reliable shavers but did not handle this are well. Unfortunately, the Remington is no better. In fact, it is far more difficult to clean and still requires that I use a hand razor for the area of concern. On top of that, the Remington is a few bucks more expensive. If you want easy care and reliability, stick to the Norelco rotaries.

Pleased that I bought this. I have been using a Norelco for the last few years and thought that I would try this. Other than the fact that it's somewhat noisy, I think it gives a fine shave. Probably a closer shave than the Norelco. I also bought the shave stick and shaver saver products and have used them but not regularly - nice add-ons but not necessary.

I bought this particular razor because it was rated the #1 best electric shaver. I looked around in town and no one carried it! Good old Amazon does and it was free shipping! Such a deal! My husband loves the shaver and says it gives a good, close shave and the charge holds very well. So far, he agrees with Consumer Reports - the best electric shaver on the market and about $60 cheaper than the next best shaver.

I've only used the shaver a few times, so perhaps it hasn't been "broken in" yet, but the results so far are pretty mixed. It's rather uneven in effectiveness.

Good Value Electric Shaver/Razor

This Remington electric shaver just recently received a very good rating by a well known product evaluation magazine. I was looking for a less expensive but equal quality replacement for my deteriorating Braun electric shaver. This Remington model's performance is equal to that of my Braun - at 1/3 the cost! If you buy, be sure to get this specific model Remingtom. Within any company's product lines there can be and are great differences in quality and performance between similar looking but different models.

A Disappointment

The Remington MS3-2000 has been my favorite razor for years. I have owned 2 of these, and refitted them with new cutters and screens for years, which restores it's performance to almost like new. Unfortunately, when the batteries get old and no longer hold a decent charge, your only option is to buy a new razor since the batteries cannot be replaced. It was a crushing blow to find out the MS3-2000 was no longer manufactured. So I bought this MS2-390 because it looked (on paper) like a suitable replacement. Wrong! Cannot get the same close shave, hairs get pulled, the pop-up does not cut as well, and the red light (low charge) comes on every 3 days despite following the charging instructions exactly. It's very disappointing for a leading razor manufacturer like Remington to drop a great product and peddle this poor imitation of a quality razor. I cannot recommend it.

NICE SHAVE

I,VE ALWAYS LIKED MY OLD REMINGTON, BUT IT WAS GETTING TIRED. MY NEW MS2-390 MICROSCREEN 500 IS A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT FOR SHAVING, I CAN PUT UP WITH THE NOISE.

One Great Shaver

I have been using Braun Shavers for many years. The last one did not shave as close, nor did the battery last as long as previous models. I gave this Remington a try and what an improvement. Much closer shaves and more shaves on one charge. I really like this shaver.

The razor does a good job as to its shaving ability.
The only thing I do not like about it is that you have to
hold the power button down while you are shaving. This makes
it awkward when you change hands or switch sides of your face.
