2 Gal Air Unit
2008-04-06
The unit itself is solid. The hose is cheap. That could be better quality. It works for what I need it for which includes filling up car tires, bike tire and blowing up floats.
Cheaper in homedepot

I bought this in homedepot for 49 dollars on sale, the regular price there is 79.
waist of money

This compressor is good for included stapler(which is also low quality) and to add air to your tires. Manometer scale is up to 260 psi, but it does not build pressure more than 80 psi. No power just noise.
Campbell-Hausfeld two gallon compressor

Although the unit is very portable, its recovery and therefore its usefullness are not very satisfactory. The unit is cute and should look good at my auction because it will be still like new.
No cause for worry!

AFter reading some of the reviews I was a little nervous about buying this, but we just finished hanging trim throughout our entire house and never a problem, hitch or glitch. I am very pleased with this tool!
Incredibly LOUD!

Bought this at Lowes because I was in a hurry for it. It is so incredibly loud you can feel your ears being damaged. Had to go outside while it charged up. Will return it and buy the Makita Mac 700.
Very poor quality even for limited use
2008-06-16
Even given the low price, (I paid only $50 at Home Depot) I would not recommend this setup as it's just more trouble than it's worth. Looking at other somewhat similar tools I figured that a decent comparable compressor alone is usually about this much, as is a brad nailer (say Porter Cable) so for the occasional use I had in mind for it it will probably be fine which is supported by the reviews here being mostly not negative. Note that the particular kit I purchased is this one but was red, relabeled as a Husky brand by my local Home Depot. However the model and serial number, and all documentation inside is C/H, who had no quarrel with providing warranty service on it. My logic about this though broke down just like the gun - the whole kit just junk.
I purchased this unit with expectations that it would be of adequate quality for occasional light duty typical homeowner type jobs. Top off the bicycle or wheelbarrow or car tires occasionally, and so on. I already have a Hitachi twinstack, with framing and trim guns for anything remotely heavy duty - as I finally told a clerk at the box store (read on...), so I wouldn't expect to be building a house with a brad nailer. But visions of taking up two flights of stairs a lightweight little air source and brad nailer to tack up a few skylight's worth of trim for example instead made me figure it was worth it.
The brad nailer was junk on arrival. The first brad or staple would be driven into the material about halfway (after adjusting the air output to the optimum, else they would bend or jam in the gun), and the next four or five attempts would only mar the material surface and not fire a fastener at all. I complained to the Home Depot where I bought it and I was out of luck because they were all out as it was a promotional item. Thought I'd try a warranty repair then. First attempt by a pro air tool repair shop to repair it made it about half better. Maybe two halfway shots and three or four misfires. The second attempt resulted in a need for a part that isn't supplied by C/H. So they arranged for a factory rebuilt gun to be sent to me. Luckily the four week downtime isn't an impact as I don't do carpentry as a living.
The compressor is, as noted elsewhere, *very* loud even for an oiless unit and quite slow to fill. (Yesterday I used it in my insulated garage and my wife came out from inside the house to complain that she couldn't hear on the phone.) Once full it will do what I expected of it, barely. Truck (50/60 psi) or high performance bicycle tires are just painful though. It's primary reason for not being on Craigslist is it's small footprint when not being used and portability as above.
Air compressor

The air compressor I bought because of the brand name and I have used this brand before. However, the compressor did not work out of the box. The warranty service was quick and outstanding. I am satisfied with my purchase at this time.
Shoots 21 brads in a single charge
2008-06-10
Before deciding to buy this compressor I compared it to the dewalt one.
I purchased it from Lowes for $59.95, It is very good for installing trim but not baseboard, I used it along with my cordless finish nailer for installing Chair Rail, Casing, Crown Molding and Baseboard.
In a single charge it shoots 21 brads and it takes exactly 1 minute to refill.
Good for the price and for what I needed it: Portability
Don't even try using a finish nailer it will only shoot 10 nails. Hope this info will help anyone thinking of getting one.
Defective and Not the Same as shown in item photo

Do your home work before you decide to spend your money on this combo. I have only used the kit once since recieveing it last week and not only does the compressor not operate properly but the nail gun also malfunctions regularly. Compressor does not reach max psi and in turn does not release the max psi to the nail gun. The gun, for starters is not even close to the one shown in this photo. It is a very cheap version, painted gloss black not the nicer finish you see here. On top of that the gun misfires and jams 2 out of 3 shots. I am very disatisfied with this product and the misrepresentation of the combo pieces.
Amazon and the manufacturer have been very curteous in the return and refund but I find it to be a hassle.
