Bridge Club 2008-07-14
I learned to play bridge on a ship returning from WWII in the Pacific
I enjoy playing on the computer, although sometimes it is very frustrating because of the way my partner returns my bids. I will bid 2 Hearts and he will say 3 clubs. I, having 3 clubs, will pass thinking he had a strong club suit, and he will have 1 club.

Not very good for beginners wanting to learn bidding 2008-05-04
This box actually includes two bridge games. One is the standard Hoyle game, with the face creator and opponents like Harley the bear. It is very similar (if not exact) to the bridge game in the Hoyle Card Games package. This game does not provide hints.

The other game is MVP Bridge Deluxe, which is a very old shareware title written for Windows 3.1. The copyright is 1994-1998. This is the one with the advertised in-game hints. Unfortunately, the hints are not very helpful to someone who wants to learn how to bid. For example, it will prompt you to bid something like "1NT", but then it does not offer any information as to why that is the proper bid.

I suppose that if you already know how to play, this might be fun, but then again, you would be better off getting the Hoyle Card Games package, as it has many more games and is less expensive.

What a waste of time and money 2007-10-03
This program took forever to install, downloaded a bunch of software before it could start the install, and gave no guarantee that the downloaded software was protected. Then the bridge was the same cheesy, stupid bidding and play as the cheap version! The bidding was pretty damn limited and did not always follow their own explanation of the bidding "rules"! I always thought bridge was a partnership game but I felt like my partner in this game was my enemy. This game is primitive and frustrating.

I hate them.

Don't waste your money 2007-09-10
I have copies of Hoyle bridge games from the past and bought this program because it promised so much. But they are promises not kept. It is basically the same program that you can buy from Staples or Office Depot at their $10 kiosks. They throw in a deck of cards and a score sheet. It says it plays duplicate bridge but I couldn't find it. The help files are not compatible with Vista. I was unable to locate the advertised "hints" that are supposedly available. And try to get some information from their web site. Actually, try to find their web site. If you find their web site, try to contact them for support. It's a hassle, if not impossible. If you want the game, buy the cheaper edition. Same program. Same game. Buy your own cards and scoresheet.

Hoyle Bridge Club Game 2007-07-26
I have complete faith in this PC game of bridge. It is excellent and has helped me understand the game. Best of all, it is a lot of fun.

Pathetic 2007-02-18

Now you can DOWNGRADE!! 2006-11-17
I was very disappointed with this software. I already own the Hoyle Card Games (includes Bridge) and the Hoyle Bridge and Euchre. Both of these are much easier to play, and do not come with large accessory programs.
The Action menu does not allow Redeal, Rebid or Replay - once the hand is dealt, you are stuck with it. Also, even though Expert levels are selectible for the players, they frequently mis-bid causing an incorrect contract.
Don't waste you money.
