Are You Deaf?
2008-07-22
As I write this, I see that 300+ people give these a five-star rating. WHAT?? Are you deaf? I'm a program producer, an FM radio DJ, and a lover of music. The sound that comes out of these is only marginally better than what one hears with two soup cans and a length of string. The bass is poor, the midrange mushy, and the treble tinny. If you want a good set of earbuds, go SONY. They're cheaper, and sound INFINITELY better. A side-by-side comparison is all you need. I wish I'd never bought these.
Comfortable ear buds, finally
2008-07-22
I have a very small ear canal, so these ear buds with different sized soft inserts available are wonderful! They are the first ones I can actually put IN my ear that will stay, because they are not too big to fit comfortably. And the noise reduction is great at work when I need to concentrate.
"Indispensable" Quickly Becomes "Disposable"

As a true lover of a great variety of musical styles, I, like so many others, find the standard-issue iPod earbuds to be rather lacking in performance.
So one day, I decided I would invest in a new set of earbuds. These seemed like the perfect match--supposedly great audio quality, at least some "noise-cancellation," and a comfortable fit for a surprisingly low price. I took a chance, and, to be perfectly honest, I was VERY satisfied for at least two months--or maybe even three. The audio quality is ten times as good as that of Apple's buds, and comfort is incomparable. Noise cancellation was sufficient for me at least, but that's no scientific analysis: the rubber tips simply seal off your ear canal, essentially muffling outside noise. I was really delighted with my purchase, until one fine day when the left bud went "BLIK" and suddenly stopped working altogether. It was possible to achieve intermittent activity when I took the cable and pressed it gently where it meets the neck of the jack, but I wasn't going to put up with that. So, thinking I could get another pair in few days and forget all about this mishap (perhaps a QC oversight, I told myself), I did and I was happy once more, but of course, that same thing happened again (just a few minutes ago). After reading a few other complaints about this very problem, I knew I needed to sound off as well.
Sure, they work well, but what seems indispensable is, in the next moment, as good as garbage. I can assure you that the low price is evidence of the product's disposable nature.
Keep falling out of my ear!

Okay, I figured with hundreds of reviews, this must be a great headset.
A few problems.
First, they keep falling out of my ear and I have tried switching the ear buds and it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Also, the bass is excessive with this head set.
I actually needed to go into my iPod and put on the bass reducer.
Best earbuds I ever owned

Sound great and stay in your ears, even while jogging. A little heavy on the bass but many would consider that a plus. They dont do that good a job of blocking outside noise but I dont consider that a biggie. You would be hard pressed to find a better pair of 20$ buds.
goood product

i like these, they are good ear buds. i use them nearly EveryDay on my ipod. the sound is good, and they hold up nicely. ive only had to replace them once and that aint bad considering how much i use them. ive bought several different kinds of buds and so far these are best value ive seen for 20 dollars. if ever they need replaced i gladly buy them again
Not a good investment

I just received these ear buds and I am quite disappointed. I do not expect these to last very long at all. The sound is not the problem for me, it's just that it seems to be of poor quality materials. The cord itself is very, very thin so it's already apparent that the wiring is not very well protected. When I put the plug into my iPod if I even slightly twist the plug while it is in the jack I will get a lot of static. Not worth $20.
Jbuds - Awesome

These are the best earbuds I have ever used.
I can totally screen out the outside noise and ignore the phone if I want.
GREAT!
okay buds, I wouldn't buy them again

I've worn these type of ear buds before and was used to how the old ones fit in my ear. These keep falling out, even trying each of the three rubber discs that come w/the buds. What's more, apparently there seems to be a wiring issue because one of buds "cuts out" on a regular basis. I'll definitely go back to a Sony product next time. These weren't worth the money.
Great sound - quit after 6 months

I received these headphones as a gift in December 2007. These headphones have a great sound - crisp with lots of bass - and they block outside noise very well - but the wires in the plug eventually became loose, and though for a few days I was able to "jiggle" the cable to get sound, they eventually quit completely. I was disappointed when they stopped working, since I did like the sound. I'm pretty cognizant of not "pinching" the cable when I would wrap my headphones up around my iPod, so as to not put any extra stress on that point. While I can't say I was rough with the headphones, I can't say I was most gentle with them, either (used for commuting, walking, working out, etc.). They quit in June 2008.
I was going to buy a second pair of these, but I decided to try the Coby headphones - after all, six bucks is worth a try - and I have to say that the Coby headphones have the same quality of sound and noise-canceling ability. I'm not an audiophile by any standard, and my hearing is about average, so if you're trying to decide between the jBuds and the Cobys, go with the Cobys. If you need the different size silicone earbuds (I lost four out of six due to my "throw in the bag / pocket / gym bag" treatment),
