NOT EFFICIENT AS LISTED
2007-12-28
This contraption is not in the least bit efficient as was listed in the description. I had to go find connectors, etc. that would make it halfway useful and even then i only used it for about 15 minutes and gave up.
Would not recommend it.
Great but not perfect.

Tends to pull off of trash can if it has large handles. If you put too much tension on the system, the universal connector pulls off of my leaf blower/vac.
The hose is thick, but it doesn't stretch very well, so you have to (at least in the beginning), keep your can close to where you're working.
Poor design. Doesn't stay attached.

Doesn't say attached to the Torro collapsable bin I bought with it. It works for short periods of time beforing belowing off with leaves and debries flying everywhere. Good idea that is poorly executed.
"universal" ...not so much
2007-12-03
Well, the toro leaf/vacuum I bought last year does not fit the inlet of this collector as I expected. The couplings look similar, but are slightly different. The adapter for universal fitting was a disappointment because it's friction fit would blow off under pressure. There is more pressure in this collector than my previous black and decker version because the tube is thinner and the container cover is a denser fabric. In order to use this collector, I had to modify it with parts from the shoulder bag collector and from by old black and decker one. I took the wider tube from the b&d and attached it to the toro container cover. (the container cover's dense weave is a plus for minimizing the dust cloud). I took the coupling from the shoulder bag collector and attached it to the other end of the b&d tube. This worked out pretty well except that my mini-bungees were not quite tight enough to hold the tube on the container cover. I may have to get some zip ties to complete the modification.
Almost Worthless

Even using a bungee cord wouldn't hold this tight on the trashcan. If it stayed on for any length of time, the hose pulled/blew out. Another bungee cord kept the hose in place...sometimes. Even if it all stayed together, the hose is too short for any reasonable use and I found myself constantly pulling over the can. I would expect this product to have an "As Seen on TV" logo on it, not "TORO"!!!!!
Good idea, but no workee

This is a great idea, but....
The bag part won't stay attached to the garbage can no matter how hard i tighten the cord (which probably should be thicker). And when i finally got the bag to stay attached for a little while, then the hose blew out of the middle of the canvas bag that is attached to the garbage can.
So all in all i like the idea but i'm going to return it to Amazon after calling Toro to ask if they have any fixes for the two problems.
Toro Leaf Collector needs work
2008-04-06
This item arrived last fall too late to be used, however I used it today to do a spring clean up of leaves.
Getting everything to stay together was a chore. Either the hose blew out of the collecting basket cloth holder or the holder blew off the collector if not tightened down very tight...and then sometimes it still came off.
So far I would say it is frustrating to use, but I have not given up on it yet.
Worthless for even slightly damp leaves
2008-03-05
Though this product works excellently on dry leaves, it clogs immediately when even slightly damp leaves are sucked up. I ended up going back to the shoulder bag that came with the blower. Didn't really make my life easier.
Nothing "universal" about it.
2008-02-06
I bought this item thinking that it was a good idea and it is in theory. The biggest problem is that the "universal" attachment is just a velcro strap to tighten the connection but it doesn't actually work against the blowing force of the vacuum. So, I found that I had to constantly hold the harness provided and it was much more uncomfortable than holding the unit by the handle. I have a Black and Decker Blower/Vac so I think I will return this one and try the one specific to my Brand.
Not well engineered-some intrinsic problems
2007-12-28
My experience with this product is as follows:
1. The snap on hose connector kept coming off.
2.The bag tie that secured the bag to the pail didn't seem to be strong enough. The bag eventually slipped off the pail when under pressure even after adjusting it many times.
3. Using this product the blower/vac is connected to a large pail via a relatively short hose, therefore the there is some jostling of the pail. I don't think the product manufacturer took this into account. In my estimation product is a bit flimsy. It must be modified by the user to work properly on a consistent basis.
