Good product

Took me a little while to work a few things out, (like it doesn't seem to play nicely with XP Pro) but overall great product. Have even used it's personal recording utility and it works very well.
Great deal

Reformat the internal flash on Linux as fat32, install Rockbox, & it's a pocket powerhouse. You get lossless audio, filesystem based playlists, mpeg-1 video with full CD audio, jpeg photos, synchronization with car ignition, very fast navigation. Rockbox only works with version 1 of the firmware & it's a bit clunky with USB but works.
RockBox crashes & falls back on the stock firmware for USB, so although RockBox supports SDHC cards, you can't write the SDHC cards on it.
Not sure what use video on it is, but it could be fun if you still ride in your parent's car on long trips.
Not sure what firmware version Amazon is currently shipping. The stock firmware either can't play files without ID3 tags or needs a windows program to import files. It definitely needs a Windows program to import photos & forget about video.
inexpensive but highly adequate

I wanted a music player that would not be overpriced but would store a lot of songs so i could select per my mood. Do I want classical? jazz? opera? maybe a little Phil Collins or would I rather listen to general 1980s or maybe some punk. how about Queen? Or greats from the 70's. This player allows you to select playlists based upon album or artist, to shuffle, randomize. I do seem to notice that when I select to play all music from a single artist, like all 5 albums of Reliant K, it only selects some to play. I have not fully explored this asset as I use it mostly in my car and at the gym. The tape converter on my car radio died, so I am suffering. When are they going to just put in a USB plug in on the fron of car radios? Maybe they do, I'm too busy to get out much. Anyway, this player isn't terribly fancy, but it is highly adequate, not very expensive, and it has done a very good job these last 6 months and going.
Good MP3 Player

The SanDisk C250 is a really good bargain for the price. It works better than I expected and is easy to operate.
Amazon's price was the best I found and I checked a ton of places. It is worth the money.
Good for the price

Very nice for the price. Good sound, no proprietary software. If you're looking for a basic straight forward player, this is an excellent choice.

When I received it, I could not turn it on, so I checked the user menu and fialed to find out how to trouble-shoot. After spent a couple of hours, I decided to quit.
Drop Some extra bucks on a Zune or an Ipod

The Sandisk Sansa is by far the worst MP3 Player I have owned. Sure, it worked great for 2 weeks and it had some features that many MP3 players don't have like FM radio and voice recording. I thought I got a hell of a deal buying this for 42 dollars but boy was I wrong. I started having issues with the battery about 15 days after I had it, the battery was running out in about 1.5 hours which was not what I expected (having trusted Sandisk's products for many years now). I didn't really mind this because when I listened to music it wasn't for long periods of time, however a few days later the sound output was not working, and I switched out like 4 pair of headphones but I realized the MP3 Player had the problem. I called customer service, which was a bit hard to communicate with but they got the job done nontheless. About a week after recieving my second Sansa it started having software issues, deleting my songs, and shutting off unexpectedly. It eventually got to the point (in about a week) where you would turn it on and it would turn off about a minute into a song. I probably could've filed for another one but I decided not to since it wasn't worth it. I was very dissapointed with Sandisk with this product and will surely stick to my ipod, which I've had for a year and is still going great. Just keep that in mind when buying this MP3 player.

I did not receive a manual with this product. I had to go online and download one in order to operate this product. Once I did that I was OK. I bought this product to download audio books from our library and it is working for that.
Great mp3 player for music only fans

I've been obsessively researching mp3 players and I found this one (but pink) on sale at an Office Depot for $39.99. I checked around and there were some mixed reviews, but in the end I decided this would be he player for me to just play music on and expand the memory if I really wanted to. The photo viewer is nice but no necessary since the screen is too small to properly view pictures. But it's nice enough.
Important things to know:
1. It came charged straight of the packaging (just not for too long) but I was able to use it before I got home to play around with it properly.
2. You have to go to the sandisk website (http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376)to download an updated firmware which isn't hard or anything, so the player will show up on your computer. I have Vista and it worked for me.
3. Tried the software they gave me-a waste of a cd if you ask me. So I can now drag and drop my files in there like I did with an older RCA model before it was stolen. A few files needed to be "converted" in order to show up but they were ALL photos, no mp3's. I keep getting a warning before the songs will copy on he player but it still plays which is important to me. Like I said, the photo viewer is insignificant. So...
4. If you want to view photos and videos - don't get this c250 sansa.
5. Headphones come with it but I bought my own. Inner ear because they stay in my ear and don't hurt a lot unlike the other ones. $10 @ Marshalls and $15 @ Target, SkullCandy. Cheap & great, like it should be at least $25 for great sound and design. Not flimsy.
6. The charger is cool. It charges via computer. I'm in luck and have an A/V for an energizer rechargeable battery and my sansa usb plugs in there so I can charge it via wall as well, which is great since I wont always be at a computer.
If you want something that has basic controls, acts as a usb, and just want something that will play music, this is the player for you. I have other recommendations such as the creative zen stone (plus/plus w/speakers) as well but too freakishly tiny for me. I have only had this for a day now but I know me and the sansa c250 are going to get along just fine. Better with a case.
