CD player broke after 4 months 2008-06-04
My husband and I bought this for our infant's room to play soothing CDs when she was upset. We used it everyday for about 2 months and then only used it about once every other week. We tried to turn it on tonight when our daughter was fussy and the CD player won't read any CD. The radio has a weak reception, so now it is just an expensive, bulky clock. And since it is past 30 days we can't return it. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Trash, POOR SERVICE, 2008-05-10
I bought this piece of garbage which worked for 2 months then everything went wrong with it, alarm stopped working (I was Late for Work), clock slowed down & cd player did not work. Called the Company for service and was told that it would cost me the price of a new unit to replace it. the other problem was that I had to make several calls until I was able to get in touch with a person who could understand and talk the english language, I WILL NEVER Purchase anything that has the Philips name on it.

sound not good 2008-04-05
sound is disappointing, sounds coppery and undeveloped, i would be happy if it wasnt so expensive - i would price it at $15 tops, plus it doesnt have a mp3 input/ av cable input which everthing should be equipped with the ipod age

Lots of annoying little issues 2008-03-15
This thing has a lot of little annoying isuses which over time, add up to wanting to buy a new alarm.
*First off, lets be honest here - you should not be buying this for high quality sound. Its an alarm clock, not a stereo system. So expect what you get - very tinny, remote sounding music quality - basically terrible. But again, don't buy a clock radio if you want great sound.
*The time set buttons are reversed - the hour is on the right, the minute on the left. Sounds unimportant, but when its 12:30 at night and you just want to set your alarm, you don't want to have to think about which button to hit. If you make a mistake, there's no going back, its all the way around the 59 minutes again.
*The snooze is 6 mins. SIX MINUTES. Who snoozes for siz minutes? You can't adjust either. Ten minutes would be perfect, but six is annoying, and nothing is worse than starting your workday annoyed at your alarm clock.
*The number display is BRIGHT. If you want a night light, go buy one. I have to turn this thing to the wall to keep it from bothering me.
*The snooze button is small - if you're like me and you've just been startled awake, you want to be able to just smack the top of the unit and hit an obvious snooze button.
*Wake up to a CD alright - but only the first track as noted by others. Very annoying.
So its a good unit, two remotes is lovely, but seriously, in the morning I am all business and I don't want to start my day with an annoying alarm clock. The alarm clock should be unnoticable.

Worth the money 2008-03-05
Very compact and the radio reception works beautifully. Perfect for the nursery since it doesn't take much room. I recommend this product.

Light went out 2008-02-09
I was very frustrated that after using the clock Philips AJ3910 CD Clock Radio) for just a day or so, the light for one of the digits went out. Having just had a baby, I don't have a lot of free time to be repackaging the product and heading down to the post office. I know it is just a fluke but extremely frustrating nonetheless.

Poor Quality FM Tuner 2008-02-04
We have owned this exact Philips clock radio for 3 years. The product is cheaply designed, or uses inferior components. Out of frustration we are now looking for a replacement because the radio cannot stay tuned to the major radio stations in Los Angeles. Given the unstable fidelity of the FM reception, I don't believe there's a good value here.

I will concede that the introduction of "HD Radio" in Los Angeles may play a role in the poor sound. Once the major stations converted to HD, the unit's sound quality deteriorated. I switched from one station to another, then the 2nd station converted to HD in January '08.

Sadly, my CDs have always sounded terrible on this product.

How difficult can the concept of a "battery backup" be? 2008-01-20
So - the clock has a battery backup - fantastic... but wait a minute... that is only to allow the clock to remember what time it is when the power comes back on... while the power is off, you can't use the radio, cd player, or the ALARMS!!!

Is it really difficult to understand the concept of "if the power goes off, I still need to wake up at the proper time - so switch to buzzer mode and wake me up!!!"

With this fatal flaw, I cannot endorse this product.
