The Rivers of Zadaa is the sixth installment to the Pendragon series. I loved this book it had adventure and it has mystery in it. This book was the best of the Pendragon it gave me everything that I wanted in a book. This book starts with a tragic death then ends very surprisingly. Saint Dane has gone to the territory of Zadda were he is influencing two warring tribes now Bobby must stop him with the help of the traveler Loor.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes an adventure book that is also a fantasy. This book now had to be the best because you had no idea what was going to happen next. I absolutely loved this book I just never wanted to put it down. I definitely would put this book in my top 5 of favorite books.

This book is packed with twists in the plot, and suspense that make you feel as if you are on a roller coaster. With two different stories filled with adventure and sprinkled with love, you feel like you're with the characters. Whenever you think you have the answer to what's going on, you want to shout it out to the characters, but each time you are soon to be proven wrong. Once you start reading this book, it will be torture just to put it down. Whenever you aren't guessing what's going to happen next, you are cheering for Bobby because you think he's going to win, or worrying because he's going to lose this battle. He is always changing position in this battle, so you feel like you're on a roller coaster, just like what I said before.
After five battles against the shape-shifting demon named Saint Dane, Bobby Pendragon is swept into another battle yet again. Saint Dane's main goal is to destroy Halla, all places, planets, and times, for a still unknown reason. Using flumes, the connection between places in time in the universe called Territories (there are ten), Bobby chases Saint Dane into the next territory, Zadaa. As a Traveler, the only people who can use the flumes, Bobby must stop the evil Traveler, Saint Dane, from reaching his evil goal. On the dessert planet of Zadaa, people are facing famine, and two tribes who were once at peace are getting close to a quick and deadly war. The aggressive tribe, the Batu, suspect that the clever tribe, the Rokador, are holding all the water from the underground rivers. Bobby, with help from Loor and Alder, the Travelers from Zadaa and Denduron, must thwart Saint Dane's plans to push Zadaa into chaos, or else Halla will be one step closer to destruction.
Meanwhile, on Bobby's home Territory of Second Earth, Bobby's friends are facing the strangest problems. Mark Dimond, pure geek, has joined a club called Sci-Clops. Things are going great for him until his enemy, Andy Mitchell, joins the club. After joining the club, Mitchell has been nicer to Mark, and Mark is getting suspicious. To add to Mark's problems, he is also worrying about how Bobby is doing on Zadaa, and how Bobby's other friend, Courtney Chetwynde is doing. Courtney has gone to a boarding school, and has gotten a new boyfriend. Of course, her boyfriend and the new Andy Mitchell turn out to be someone else...
Notes:
-This is actually my book report.
-For people starting the Pendragon series, you should start at the first book.
-It has a plot very similar to the first Pendragon book, The Merchant of Death.
I hope you enjoy this book, it's a real Tum-Tigger!

Ok, first off the library review is totally and completely wrong about his book. I really liked it. I think that they did develop the characters a lot more than that review makes them out to. We learned a lot about Loor, and about Courtney, also we got a spine tingling new development in those last few pages. I just cant wait until I get to read the next book.

With each word I read, I was more and more captivated by D.J Machale's sixth book in his Pendragon series, Rivers of Zadaa. Unlike many sequels in a long series, the Pendragon books only get better and better. Rivers of Zadaa is no exception. A mixture of suspense, adventure, and hard hitting action, Machale's thrilling book will keep readers on the edge of their seats.
Bobby Pendragon was a teenager on a quest to save every time, existence, and being that ever was from a man called Saint Dane. In order to do this, he had to go to each of the ten territories, which are much like different planets. When he arrived on the territory of Zadaa, there was already trouble brewing. During a drought, Saint Dane had stirred up two different ethnic groups, called the Batu and the Rokador. The Batu, a group that lived above ground, believed that the Rokador was holding back the underground Rivers of Zadaa. In return, the Rokador, who live underground in a vast system of tunnels, refuse to assist the Batu, confirming the Batu`s suspicions. To make matters worse, the Batu soon started fighting themselves, with half of the tribe believing violence was the answer, and the other half hoping for a diplomatic solution. With the help of his friend, Loor, Bobby managed to break into the twisting labyrinth of the Rokador, and into the heart of their plan. They soon discovered that the Rokador did not have the slightest chance of standing up against the trained Batu warriors, because a deadly sickness had wiped out most everyone. However, Rokador engineers had planned, with the help of a disguised Saint Dane, to wipe the whole Batu tribe out when they release the water they had been holding from the rivers. Bobby and Loor did the best they could, but in the end, they only messed up the system so that the water would end up killing both tribes. Just when they thought it was all over, they realized that the surviving Rokador and Batu would have to work together to create a new home, and a new beginning. What had started out as a hopeless disaster, had slowly morphed into a fresh start for the people of both groups.
Filled with twisting, exciting events, this book never gets boring. When Bobby landed in the middle of a feud between the Batu and Rokador, he was nearly killed by Saint Dane, who was disguised as a Batu warrior. After this incident, he decided he needed to learn how to fight to defend himself, and asked Loor, one of the best Batu warriors there was to teach him. Loor's sister Saangi, and Alder, a friend from another territory were asked to help as well. What Bobby didn't know was that not only were they going to teach him to fight, they were going to make him into a warrior. After two weeks of hard, grueling, torturous training, Bobby was finally ready to work. Almost as soon as his training was done, Bobby and his friends were attacked by Rokador warriors. One of his friends was killed, but not before he had given them the map to the heart of the Rokador city. Grief stricken, Bobby and Loor stole through the strangely deserted system of tunnels in the underground dwelling of the Rokador people, until they came to Kidik, the center of the Rokador home. There, they found a nightmare. Hundreds of Thousands of Rokador were dead because of a plague, and the remaining Rokador were busy planning the destruction of the Batu. At last, Bobbly and Loor managed to break into the engineering room, and smash the controls that would release an ocean of water. The water was supposed to flood the tunnels, drowning the Batu who were coming to attack the Rokador. However, the damaged controls had been set in the wrong position when they were smashed, and now would end up drowning both tribes. Luckily, most of the Rokador and Batu were able to escape to safe land in time, and start a new beginning. Once again, Machale has created an unbelievable masterpiece of literature.
Though they many not know it, readers that have just cracked open Rivers of Zadaa are about to be taken on an incredible journey through the scenery of a whole new world. Once a fertile, beautiful place, a severe drought has almost destroyed the territory of Zadaa. The rich palm trees were dying, and colorful hanging gardens gone. Fountains that sprayed water in intricate patterns around massive statues of stone were bone dry. The water troughs were empty, except for the settling dust. Sand from the surrounding desert blew in, collecting on the streets that led to the city square. The city square was a sandy patch of ground surrounded on all sides by towering, sandstone buildings. The scene was much like pictures of ancient Mayan temples in Central America today. The buildings loomed up like multi-tiered pyramids, finished off with flat tops. Some were taller than others, reaching up to ten stories high. Statues of mostly what looked like fierce warriors were carved on all levels on the buildings. In the dead ceter of the squeare, was a ornate fountain, now dry. A gigantic statue of a warrior battling a huge beast was mounted on the desiccated fountain. Described so vividly, Machale has managed to capture perfectly the scene of a desolate city, and paint a picture in the readers mind.
All in all, Rivers of Zadaa is one of the most enjoyable books that I have ever read. As readers follow Bobby through his adventures, they will be sucked up in a world that is beyond imagination. This book has earned a spot in my all time favorites, and definitely deserves two thumbs up.
The Best Book I've Read
2007-03-02
I read Bobby Pendragon Seven: The Rivers of Zadaa. It was a book about a boy with the ability to travel to other planets. He goes to Zadaa and is confronted with the chalange of saving the world. He has saved four planets already and goes to Zadaa with confidence. He risks his life and with his friend Loor, they try to save the planet.
I liked this book because it was full of suspence and excitement. there were a few surprising parts and an asasination but it was very breath taking. The characters used good ideas to get out of trouble, but it always messes up so they find another way.
There was a little bit of death and a main character died but it wasn't a massacer. The author left you at a cliff hanger at the end, but it catches you to read the next book.
All in all it was a great book that I intend to keep forever.I loved them and I hope the author keeps writing. He left a lot of questons but they will be solved in later books. The Pendragon series is GREAT!
