Great Product/Great Price

After buying product at Best Buy for $70, I came home and looked it up on Amazon.com where sure enough I found it for much less! I took back the one to Best Buy and got mine from Amazon in just a couple of days. I bought this primarily to use in our car for powering our Gateway & Toshiba laptops on road trips. As opposed to some power adapters which have various tips for various brands of computers, this is great in that if offers the versatility of being able to plug other AC items as well. A little large and the cords are a bit short, but I didn't think is was annoyingly loud.
To be connected all the time

I've owned this device for over a year and it's great. Use it for laptops and chargers with no problems. Stays much cooler than our previous inverter.

Find for smaller items, will not power my laptop

Bought this one to use when traveling and my Targus inverter went to Michigan with my son. It looks the same, but isn't. My laptop, an HP 17" is 19v, and this will not power it. It works for about 30 seconds then goes off. It will work for items with a lower power requirement, but not a larger laptop.

The ACMobile 150CHI Inverter converts 12V DC automobile power to standard 120V AC home power - up to 150 watts. Simply plug the inverter into a 12v DC outlet (cigarette lighter outlet) and you're ready to go. It's the perfect solution for powering electronics anywhere a 12V power source is available. It also has full-time surge protection that guards against power fluctuations from vehicle startup and shutdown. The 150CHI is ergonomically designed to fit in any standard sized cupholder (for convenient placement), but also lays flat for dashboard or seat mounting. The 36" tangle-free cord is equipped with a 2-in-1 auto/airline connector, so you can power your electronics on the road, in the air, or on your boat. It not only has a standard 3-prong home outlet, but comes with a "pass-through" 12V DC cigarette lighter port so you can utilize the 120V AC home power and 12V DC cigarette power at the same time. It's the perfect device to power all your mobile/ consumer electronics, small appliances, emergency equipment, and portable tools.

CyberPower AC Power Converter

My wife and I are planning a road trip this summer and wanted a way to charge camera batteries, cell phones and operate a laptop computer. The reviews indicated the CyberPower AC Power Converter was a good unit to purchase. We purchased the device and have since run several road test, 2 of which it powered an IBM laptop(with GPS software)for 5-7 hours. It worked GREAT! It ran cool and kept the battery in the laptop at full charge for the duration of the trips. We are very happy with this purchase.
Amazon has been getting a bum rap on reviews

I was looking for this adapter online. I nearly bought the exact item at Best Buy for $63.00. I had never bought anything from Amazon and as I was reading different reviews I saw many people were saying that the service was terribly slow and hard to deal with. I found this adapter on Amazon for $32.00, with free shipping. I ordered it on Tuesday, received confirmation of shipping on Wednesday, and had the adapter in my hand on Thursday. All this at a savings of $31.00! I was so impressed I ordered Microsoft Streets and Trips 2007 the next day. I have already received notification of shipment and I saved $80.00. I am sold on Amazon.
