gets the message across

The book changed my thinking when it came out years ago and so I was excited to see it on DVD. It appears to be a low budget movie but it gets the message across. I have enjoyed it enough to have watched it a few times.
I even bought it for my best friend before her trip to Peru.

I read and enjoyed the book and was very much looking forward to seeing the movie.
I think it lost something in the translation.
However if you've not read the book, you might enjoy it.
Rent it first. Or better yet, if you haven't already, read the book.

You need to read the three books first. 2008-07-19
I read these books several years ago and loved them. The movie was iceing on the cake. But I think that that it will be enjoyed more by people that read the book.

the book went into great detail and the movie just kind of skimmed through almost as if it was expecting i had read the book. had i not read the book first, i wouldnt know how great the story truely is. READ THE BOOK, its excellent

This DVD brings the journey of "The Celestine Prophecy" to life with stunning visual details. For those who loved the book, watching the movie is a must because you will be transported in an experiential way to the spiritual awakening that James Redfield has revealed in his books. I would give this a 5-star rating if this movie was accessible to everyone.
For those who haven't yet read the book: The Celestine Prophecy, I recommend that you start there first. Otherwise points brought up in the movie won't make much sense. I also recommend that you try a contemporary novel in a similar visionary style to Redfield's writing: Nexus: A Neo Novel...a beautiful story of transformation by Deborah Morrison & Arvind Singh set at spiritual retreat.

Intuition and Synchronicity Explained 2008-05-17
For a while, "coincidences" have been happening in my life and they've started to happen in other peoples' lives as well, such as friends and family.
This movie really helped me understand the nature of coincidences and how powerful and influential they can be in our lives. I also have been opened up to new ways of thinking about how the world works, and in a small way, what it means to be human, to connect, and to relate with other people.
Some of the concepts in this film may go over the heads of people who do not consider themselves to be 'spiritual,' but for them I recommend the movie even more highly if they are open to possibilities that can be observed but not explained by modern science.
At times, the cinematography seems a bit... b-rate. And the dialog can be cheesy at times. If the movie had those two things, I'd give it a 5. However, for what it is and tries to be, it's still worth watching and owning.

a must-see for those on a spiritual journey 2008-04-27
As with most any film, it's not half as good as the book (I strongly recommend you read the book[s] by James Redfield). However, they did a wonderful job making it into a movie; keeping the story interesting and still delivering the overall message. For those who are always interested in working on themselves/making themselves a better person and wanting to learn specific tools on how to do that- or those who are just interested in one way of thinking about how energy moves between people- I highly recommend you see this movie, you might just change the way you interact with people; or at least be more aware of how you give energy to others.

I kind of like the movie, but the theme seems to be more
a sci fi "I wish it were so!" than an actuality.
The tenth insight is probably that there is no end
to our possible evolution?
People like John Horgan and Stephen Hawking predict an end to science,
but I think there are just plateaus of wisdom and knowledge.
Keep your focus.
