This 8-port Desktop Switch receives and forwards traffic seamlessly with its non-blocking wire-speed architecture. Every port simultaneously supports up to 200Mbps of bandwidth in full-duplex mode that totals 1.6Gbps of switching capacity. These features minimize network congestion, allowing you to run a smooth network.
The D-Link 8-port 10/100 Desktop Switch (DES-1108) provides a simple solution for expanding your network. Connect this Desktop Switch to a router and share high-speed Internet access with up to seven additional computers. By sharing the Internet, your users can check e-mail, browse the web, and chat with friends and family online using their own computer. With this Desktop Switch, you can also add a print server, Network-Attached Storage (NAS), and Internet camera to increase the functionality of your network.
The DES-1108 does not require any configuration or software, making installation simple. Supporting Auto-MDI/MDI-X, there is no need for crossover cables whether you are connecting this Desktop Switch to another switch or to a computer. Additionally, it will automatically sense if the connected network devices are running at 10Mbps or 100Mbps and adjust accordingly. Very Good Product

Works great for me and easy to install. I have 2 Directv HD-DVRs, Clover security DVR, Slingbox, Desktop PC all connected and no problems. Don't spend more for a switch at Best Buy or Circuit City, this one will work fine for you.

I have two of these. Connected to one is my HD TiVo, Xbox 360, Wii (wired), and HD-DVD player. This switch, in turn, is connected to a 2nd switch of the same make via a long (50-foot or so), cheap Cat5e cable. Connected to the 2nd switch is two computers, another TiVo, and my VoIP telephone. This switch is then connected to my Verizion FiOS router. Connections to all devices are just as fast as you'd expect and I get my full 15mbps on the WAN side (which I better, seeing as how they're 100Mbps switches). The bang for the buck is very good for this switch, IMO.
