BEWARE OF THIS SELLER OR YOU WILL BE RIPPED TOO!

Look at the number of complaints and the pathetic seller responses to understand I am not the first one they ripped; furthermore, they have the guts to CONDITION REFUND upon REMOVAL OF MY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK.
Great sound but you have to follow instructions exactly to get it to work with Zune.

First of all I bought this device for a much lower price so I am surprised that it's selling for so much more now on Amazon. The sound quality is the best thing about these speakers but they're a little quirky when you have to operate them. You have to follow the sequence of plugging it in and then turning on Zune to make it work with your Zune.
The remote is a little finicky too, all it does is operate the speaker and turn the volume up or down. It does not provide controls for Zune. It would have been nice to be able to skip to the next song. Still at the sub 100 price I paid for it this was a great purchase for my older Zune. For the new slimmer Zunes you'll need to put in a plastic sleeve adapter to make it fit snugly into the port.
Excellent Audio, Nice Design

I've got this in my kitchen and absolutely love it. The sound is great, and the remote control makes it convenient to quickly pause it. With the wireless sync capability of the Zune combined with this system, I can get a sync right from the kitchen! The design is great and looks very modern and minimalistic. It would be nice if it had a small clock display somewhere, but that would perhaps not have been as aesthetically pleasing.
Buyer Beware! 2008-06-21
I unfortunately ignored the other reviews that complained they couldn't get this device to work. I spent 2 days trying and finally gave up and sent it back. Bought the less expensive 414 model instead. That one works and sounds great!
Great for Zune lovers 2008-06-17
If you have a Zune you must have this. The sound is great for a small unit and all you do in plug the power in, place your Zune into the platform and you are ready to go. Wow. Great for any size room.

I used to have the BOSE SoundDock as well as the Altec im7s. I paid $250 plus tax for both of the previously mentioned units, both were top of the lines.
These Altec m604s are smaller and much more portable and not to mention cheaper! (I bought them from perfect-condition-outlet for $199.99 and they arrived within 3 days with regular shipping!) Not only that, but they sound just as well, or BETTER!
This is probably the best set of speakers you can get for a Zune, no need to get an iPod because they have better accessories any more! Altec Lansing has hit the spot with this speaker, I would recommend it to everyone!

Incredible sound! 2008-05-18
When this unit arrived, I was horribly disappointed to realize that it was not a truly portable unit; it cannot run on batteries. I guess I just assumed it was, since the im414 is. I got a great price on it, so I was all set to sell it on Ebay for a slight profit. Then I turned it on. I can't believe the sound! The instruments could be right there in the next room. There's no way I would sell it now at twice the price! The m604 is my new best friend.
I'll just add, because I've seen some confusion about this, that it does work perfectly with my Zune 80. All you have to do is pop out the plastic insert in the stand.
Very bad customer support 2008-04-30
It is only 3 or 4 months that we got the speaker for our Zune 2... when i doc the zune it is getting charged and synchrinizing with the computer but the audio output is not there. If i connect thro the audio cable i hear the song... Something wrong with the doc on the base...
I cant write enough about the customer support... they want me to send the whole doc to their corporate office at my own expense for fixing it.
Will not try this or any product from Altec lansing any more.
If you are ok with trying your luck... go for it.
