Ipod sport kit for Ipod nano

I'm a semi-avid runner, and was curious about this item, as I always run with music from my nano attached to my waist band. I've found this item to work great, right out of the box. With one exception! If you are an avid treadmill runner, you'll find that the mileage and calories burned calculated by the treadmill doesn't jive with the mileage and distance run according to the Ipod+Nike sport kit. You will however find yourself motivated to run further, and get yourself synced up with Nike's website. Set goals, se how you run, challenge yourself. I personally think the Ipod sensor is more accurate than the treadmill (but don't tell my wife that). I would recommend this kit.

Motivating 2008-06-09
I love this thing. It actually motivates you to run more. I have this for my Nano. I also have the Nike+ sports band which is really cool because with that you don't need an ipod to track your running. Worth the small investment.

I bought the sport kit because I love gadgets and I figured it would force me to exercise. I have NEVER run in my life, and as of today, I have run 17.75 miles since I started using this thing two weeks ago.
Nikeplus.com allows you to track your progress by run, by week, or by month and set goals for yourself, which is all extremely helpful to staying on track. You don't even need Nike+ shoes - just get an adapter that goes on your shoe laces, it works just as well.
I didn't think anything would get me to go running. Simply love this product!
Motivation in microchip form 2008-06-06
THe Nike+ system is a must have for any level runner. It has motivated me and helped me run further and faster than I would have not using the system. It's super-fun and informative to look at each run drawn out on the website. There are training programs on the nike plus site and you can challenge friends and other nike+ users in distance challenges and well as speed challenges. This is exactly what I needed to take my running to the next level without joining a running club. I prefer to run alone and this has helped me to do so AND push myself that bit further running with other people tends to do. Great product!
HIGHLY MOTIVATIONAL 2008-07-24
Regardless of any negative reviews this product functions flawlessly for me. It is so motivational to be able to set goals and work to see them achieved. I have used Nike+ with and without calibrating the sensor. I am 6 foot tall and I would say an average stride length. There was virtually no difference between calibrated and not. I verified distances with my car odometer to verify this observation. It is easy to use, easy to set up and works quite well with various shoe pouch products available so you don't really need to buy nike shoes to use it effectively. I've lost over 20 lbs. already. Buy it!!
Wonderful 2008-07-06
I love this pedometer! I was looking for something that I could put on the computer and graph my different runs and this does a wonderful job. It's easy to use and easy to set up. I don't have the Nike shoes that go with it but that's not a problem at all and it still works great.

This is a great little device. It fits right into my Nike + shoes. It really makes me want to finish a workout by telling me how far I have gone and that I am almost done!
Distances off and can't calibrate

The Nike sensor has been totally off in calculating my mileage run and after numerous attempts to calibrate it to my running pace, I've had no success in making it more accurate. After attempting to find a fix for this problem, I've discovered it's pretty common on the Apple message boards. I would not buy this product again and am now thinking about investing in another pedometer.

What a great product. I can record my mileage or check my calories burned, while listening to music and running. The only flaw is the ear plugs keep falling out. What is your suggestion on that?
