Ever heard of PAC-MAN? 2007-01-27
Apparently Not! Tim F. LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins are just money grabbing psychotic fools who probably never enjoyed a simple game of PAC-MAN.

Leave this game behind 2007-01-10
Okay, the idea of the game is this; the rapture has happened and the antichrist is on the loose. It's your job to convert as many people in the game before Jesus returns.

The only way to get more characters on your side is to convert them. Hence, the spiritual warfare aspect of the game. You can train your converts to be pastors, missionaries, gospel singers, prayer warriors etc. you can also have them build buildings to house more converts to train, house and feed them. This sounds like a lot of micromanaging and it is. The point and click aspect is only fun for so long. Not to mention the fact that the Ai is a little dim and you constantly have to tell them what to do without them doing it themselves.

One nice part of the game is its mapped view of New York City. However the streets feel constricted so you cannot move your otherwise enormous army around very easily. Plus even though New York is mapped, there are limited varieties of the buildings. That might be okay if you could earn them but the game only lets you get what it will let you.

The characters all look the same even after you convert them. They do change to the same outfit after awhile but it's still a pain to tell them apart.

The game does offer online play but only to play as the peacekeeping forces. You also gain access to all their powers. Like doctors and colleges-oh I'm so scared!

The game is well crafted to be a decent RTS game without being annoying on the Christian angle. This is at least more interesting than The Bible Game. But I still give it the same score because of the poor graphics, micromanagement and repetitive, boring game play. If you're buying this game for its fun-factor and not it's religious content, you're going to regret paying for it.

Pros-
Somewhat easy to learn
Lots of different units
Cons-
Micromanagement
bad graphics
boring game play

Get over it 2007-01-07
First of all, yes, I am a Christian, but no, I don't see what the big deal is about. This game is based on what some Christians believe the end of the world will be like. These books have been around for a long time now, so it should be obvious that there is a Christian influence on both the books and the game, so really to bash on the game because you don't agree with the Christian theme of it seems a bit unnecessary to me. My parents didn't agree with a lot of violent video games when I was a kid, and there are a lot of games that I like that I won't let my kids play until they are older, but all that means is that if I don't support those games then I won't buy them. I find it funny to read how upset people are getting about a video game. If you don't agree with it, then don't buy it and give the game developers more money to create more games that I can only assume would have similar ideology built into the game.

As far as a game review, all I can say is that I have to agree with the majority of the comments about it. Think what you will about the story line, but I just personally was not impressed with the graphics or gameplay. I think everyone else who has said that the game was rushed to be released for Christmas is right, but who knows, maybe with the sales they make off this game they will be able to come up with a better product for their next game.

It wasn't the worst game I have ever played, but it definitely needs improvement if the developers expect to compete with other RTS games.

I have mixed feelings 2006-12-23
So I bought this game because I thought the concept was interesting but after playing it for a little while lost interest. I would agree with other reviewer that it definatly felt like it was a rush job for christmas and luckily I have and Alienware PC the met the requirements. I would compare the game to that developed by the US Army. It's and ok game but it was created with and underlying message. So the only thing I will say that was "Left Behind" were the average gamers who don't have the system requirements to play this game.

On a personal note. Games like this are made to stir people up. I mean think about it. If EA or any other major game manufacture had developed this game you would have had the option to play the side of the Anti-christ. So that's my thought.

Celebrate Christmas by killing people 2006-12-22
The basic premise of this game is that believers roam the New York and kill the unbelievers using Christ sanctioned weapons. The players get to blow areas of the whole city using tanks, kill in the name of the lord and then pray their guilt away and increase their spirits using the special pray button. This game is absurd promotes intolerance and bigotry. If a company in the Middle East / India /China came up with a similar game killing people of other religions who did not convert to Islam / Hinduism / Buddhism, we would all be up in arms with Bill O'Riley, Ann Coulter and Glen Beck decrying the lack of sanity and tolerance in that part of the world. Strangely they seem to have this game their silent nod of approval an example Glen Becks Dec 4 interview with the Jeff Frichner, President, Left Behind Games. Parents should keep their children away from it. If killing is your thrill, I would recommend the World of Warcraft or Half Life as alternatives.

Many lies about this game. Better than a lot of people claim. 2008-03-11
First of all, let me be adamant that THERE IS NO "CONVERT OR KILL" IN THE GAME. Sorry for the caps, but it's necessary to be firm against the lies being spread about this game. From the game manual, to the game itself, to the game and company websites, it is made very, very clear that "convert or kill" is NOT the goal of the game. The goal of the game is to save people from the Antichrist. In fact, here's is a direct quote from the manual: "YOUR GOAL: Save as many people from the clutches of the Antichrist as possible. Your purpose is absolutely NOT to wipe out the enemy forces." The manual does briefly touch on very rare circumstances where you might be forced to fight defensively and kill or be killed, but your best (and often your only) offense and defense is spiritual warfare, i.e. using non-combatant singers and recruiters to turn units to your side (or at least neutral).

Furthermore, the game is neither racist nor sexist. While the units all look alike, this is simply for the sake of convenience and to avoid confusion. Any "Muslim names" people have complained about are a non-issue as there are many, many other types of names. Some have complained that female units can't become builders and this makes the game sexist, but they ignore the fact that only female units can become the most powerful units in the game.

As far as the game itself, it makes you plan moves and think out strategies instead of massing soldiers and weaponry to slaughter your enemies. It's very fun when you get the hang of it (and realize that unlike traditional gaming, brute force isn't the best option and can often be the worst).

Left Behind Games has been very faithful to players and has made sure to issue several patches to address technical and gameplay concerns. The game as it is now with all patches installed is very stable and easily playable.

The game's appearance is above average with top-notch recreations of New York City streets right down to street signs (which are readable!), mailboxes and banks of payphones. The advertising in the game is minimal and hardly noticeable when you are concentrating on playing.

In short, "Eternal Forces" is a very good offering from a brand new company and a brand new genre.

The game that should be Left Behind. Waste of money! 2007-12-25
I just recieved this game for Christmas and was really excited to get it. That was untill I played it! The movies put out by this series are impressive the game is a total waste of money. In the first part of the game you are told to: "Beware of the evil musicians, their screaming guitars will take your soul away!" And you are literally killed by these evil rockstar musicians and kicked out of the game. Your only defense is to pray really hard, or kick someone (Not much of attack when people are coming at you with weapons!) Oh, and by the way there are literally dotted lines drawn in most of he city so that you can not advance beyond those points until it lets you! And to walk you have to keep clicking on the walk button and then move your mouse to where you want to go. Your character keeps saying stupid things like: "I'll go!" or "That's a good idea!" (He says this every time you make him move!) Graphics are basic and when you push on your letter buttons (On the keyboard) they make sounds but your character does nothing. P.S. Most Christians do not believe that rock music will take your soul away! I kept the free Left Behind Book and I threw the game away! I don't know who made this game, but they should deffinately look into a new field of work!

A good Christian Game 2007-12-12
This game is not best, most up-to-date game in the world. I will acknowledge that. It is, however a good quality game for Christians to play as an alternative to D&D or other role playing games with non-Christian themes. Yes, the graphics are old, but the theme of the game really makes up for it. Christians should buy the game. We should be supporting our Christian video game options. If we don't then there is no incentive to produce others for the manufacturers. Other items to try are Dance Praise revolution and Odyssey products.

Left Behind.......In More Ways Than One 2007-10-02
I knew this game didn't get rave reviews, but I wanted to try it out anyways. When comparing it to other strategy-based games, Left Behind just doesn't measure up. It gets very repetitive (having to acquire the same buildings over and over every single mission) and just isn't the experience that you'd expect coming from a game that was developed from the great Left Behind series. I'm a big fan of Age of Empires III, and the difference between this game and that one is like night and day. I truly believe if the developers of AOE III would have worked on this, you'd easily have one of the top strategy games, hands down. However, this is not the case, and hopefully they'll do better next time. They're supposed to be developing another Left Behind game, and believe you me, it couldn't possibly be any worse than this one. Even die-hard fans of the book should stay away from this game, it's just not worth playing.

Honestly not very good.. 2007-06-06
I like the books. At least the early books, and I'm an avid video gamer so when I saw they had a Left behind game, I decided to give it a whirl. First of all, even though my PC is up to spec, the game has REALLY long load times. The tutorial was beastly, the interface awkward. The units (people), look too similar, and have specific assigned genders (such as no female soldiers, etc.) Halfway through the monstrously long and unweildy tutorial I gave up. The graphics and the clunky iterface just didn't do it for me.

I think this series would make a better adventure game... You know with puzzles and traveling to exotic locations (like those produced by DreamCatcher) The LB universe is so interesting it would really shine in that kind of environment. Particularly if characters could visit places such as Jerusalem, New Babylon, and Tribulation force HQ.

The one plus to this game was the soundtrack. It was beautiful.
