Fast CF Reader 2008-08-31
The CF Adapter worked as promise - fast and accurate. It's a great product for any photographer.

To Buggy 2008-06-18
It's FAST! The problem is that it is the only thing that has created a system level kernal panic crash of my MacBook Pro in the last 2 years. There is a very specific sequence you have to use when using this card. I have not used it a lot yet, but it seems that you have to put the expresscard in the computer w/o the CF card in it. Then insert the CF card in the reader, being careful not to eject the reader from the slot while doing this. If you have the card in the reader before putting the reader in the computer, it will not work. I pulled the card out and re-inserted it and it crashed my computer. NOT COOL! It did not come with any driver installers or make any suggestions to do so. I'm going to continue to look online to see if there are any.

As of right now, I have to say go with a FW or USB reader until the bugs are worked out. It may simply be a driver issue. I don't know enough about these things to be sure.

PS. Mine does not look like the one in the pic. Instead of the white piece on the end, it's black.

Forces me to restart 2008-05-19
I have a MacBook Pro, and after reading many reviews bought this product. The transfer speed is great, when it works. The trouble I have is every time I insert a card into the reader, I get that grey screen that tells me to hold down the power button to restart my computer, in about 6 different languages. I restart, after loosing progress on the things this "grey screen of death" as interrupted, then I am able to read the card just fine. This is a horrible manufacture default. I'd give this product 1/2 a star if i could and if i could take a screen shot when that grey screen appears, i would but this freezes my computer.

I don't even know if what I received was a Delkin model as there is no marking on my reader at all. Bottom line: Do not buy this product.

So Far Excellent 2008-05-08
I am a photographer, and the images I take can be quite large. I sometimes transfer 8 gigs at a time off of my camera's compact flash cards. This card is amazingly fast and cuts my transfer times down to probably a third or less of what it used to take when I used a USB card reader.

I am very pleased so far.

Fast and simple 2007-12-29
My second Expresscard purchase. Transfers extremely fast. A full 4 GB card takes seconds rather than minutes. I am a Mac user and the only limitation is that you need a newer machine (e.g. a Mac book pro) with appropriate express card slot.

Very fast and easy to use 2007-12-08
After uploading 8GB CF cards via USB, this speed of this card reader is just amazing. It works great in my MacPro laptop -- just pop it in and in a few seconds OS X mounts your card.

I've carted this card around with me on a few trips and have abused it a bit more than I should have, but it is still solid and working great.

The only thing I dislike is that it is difficult to change CF cards without the entire unit coming out. When you insert the new card, it usually triggers the spring mechanism to release the card. This is only a minor annoyance, though.

This card is well worth the investment -- I should have bought it long ago.

Compact Flash Express Card 2007-11-11
Simple, but useful. It's easier to put the CF card in the adapter first, then insert the adapter into the Express Card slot. It uploads 8 MB Raw files in 1 second. 30 images then load in half a minute -- about 10 times faster than USB 2. Very helpful device.

As advertised 2007-10-09
This product is convenient except for the protrusion which is unavoidable. Not practical to leave in place so it requires being carried seperately from the laptop. It is fast and works well out of the box.

Pricey 2007-09-28
I was thinking about purchasing this because the new laptop I'm ordering from Amazon has an Express34 slot instead of the PCMCIA slot my old laptop has. Then I read the reviews and noticed the price. One might consider the Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 Reader as an alternative. It is half the price and uses the USB port on your laptop instead. Same 20MB performance. Only 'drawback' is you have to carry the unit and a usb cable compared to just this card, though the unit is very compact. Amazon sells it.
