tax returns pros

I have been using their e-file product for years and am never disappointed. Makes tax prep almost painless and so nice to get the job done without the hassles of mailing in data.
If you file from a MAC forget TaxCut this year!

Well, I guess it had to happen eventually. This product is a total and complete failure on the Mac side. Not only did I have to wait 2 weeks for the state version to become available, but when I tried to file, there appears to be a software glitch and the system won't allow me to efile, it just boots me back to the efile main screen. I called customer service 3 times so far and each and every one of them was absolutely horrible. One even started arguing with me when I had to explain to him how his own product worked! Anybody ever seen the documentary "India Calling"? I will NEVER use one of their products again...ever.
Federal fine but state won't efile

Bought the Federal + State + Efile and everything worked great until I tried to file my state return. I repeatedly received error messages and called Customer Service who couldn't explain the error and would not give me a refund for my state efile charges.

In December 2007 I bought this assuming that it was for the current tax year. When I got it I realized it was for the previous tax season and returned it. Why would this still be for sale on the website, especially at full price. Ridiculous.
out of date 2008-02-10
i mistakenly chose a tax-cut product that was out of date-it was listed with the 2007 tax-cut programs. when i returned this item i was charged for freight whic is fine it was my mistake, but i was charged $30.00 re-stocking fee on a $59.95 purchase that was out of date and should not have been offered for sale. this is 2007 tax time-frame not 2006. thoroughly disgusted with AMAZON for this type of response. will endeavor to find another source for purchases!!!

Makes tax time fairly stress-free

This product is pretty easy to use, except some of the navigation is tricky. What I like best about the product is that it imports information from the prior's year return, making it easy to get moving on a new return. Also, I like the fact that it suggests the most common answer for questions that are irrelevant to the average person.
The only real problem I've had is when I need to file two state returns. The numbers aren't transferred between the returns. Also, I work in NY and live in NJ and I think it's almost impossible to find the section to calculate credits for days worked outside of NY. (This can save hundreds of dollars.) I had to print out the previous year's return to find the question number.
A TAX CUT FAN 2007-11-22
I've been using Tax Cut for over 5 years now and have been very happy with the product. Kiplingers Report gave it high praise so I tried it and so glad I did. Doing annual taxes is no longer the chore it once was. I intend to buy it every year to do both Fed. and NY tax forms.
Worked well 2007-07-15
It worked as advertized. I did not have any reason to call Customer Service, so I cannot rate it, but the product was excellent. I used the Utah State tax form.
TaxCut Made Mistake on State Taxes 2007-06-09
Missouri state tax auditor caught a mistake that TaxCut made on my state taxes relating to the tax deduction for college tuition 529 program. This cost me $450. I'm switching back to TurboTax.
