I Start my practice internship in 1974, then I got a Littmann very expensive at that time, it still works, but 15 years ago I got two littmann Calssic II(one for my home bag and the other for my profesional working bag).
I still tink are the best for a very fine hearing, maybe the best, and the price is low for an "eternal" stethoscope.
I use my stethoscope even for hearing the "sounds of the artrosic joints", its so useful.
great classic stethoscope durable, good price 2007-05-07
I have used this model for over 15 years. I think its durable and comfortable to use. My son is in medical school and I bought this as a gift for him. I was suprised to see it so heavily discounted on Amazon. Great price, 1/2 what I would be paying my medical supply person.
Good durable stethoscope 2006-12-07
Like I said in the title this is a good durable stethoscope. It was the recommended one for nursing school when I started back in 1998 and I have had the same one since. It has worked well for me through school, working in several different units, and even survived the heat and humidity well when I took it to Indonesia three times. It has good acoustic quality.

This is a good all-around stethescope for nursing use. It's lightweight, has comfortable earpieces, and the sound is clear and easy to hear. Cheaper scopes are certainly available, but you'll be using this for years -- and this one certainly holds up for years...my sister has been using hers since 1986.
I bought my Littman Classic II on my sister's advice (yep, also a nurse) when I started nursing school clinicals in 1999 -- it was so much lighter than the Sprague I'd been using...and frankly, anything that saved me a little stress during the ordeal of nursing school was well worth it.
When my daughter started nursing school last fall, and complained to me that she was having trouble hearing BPs and lung sounds with the school supplied scopes, I bought this same scope for her. She LOVES it and her fellow students are envious.
My brother will be starting nursing school next year, and I think this will make a marvelous gift for him as well.

This is a very nice stethoscope. The ear pieces are comfortable. I use it primarily at home, to practice for my work.

I ordered this for my dad who is a Veterinarian. He was impressed with sound quality and the comfortable fit. This is a nice quality stethoscope for a very reasonable price. He uses it for his small animal practicing and has no complaints. If you're questioning how much you want to spend on a stethoscope but would still like to have a high quality one, this should be your pick.
