Cozy, but short lived

I suffer from tension in my neck and shoulders, and frequent headaches. I like the shape of the wrap - it encompasses my neck and shoulders nicely, and can double as a headache wrap as well because of its softness (not quilted so can fall easily over head and neck when lying down). The drawback is that it doesn't stay warm very long. I usually have to microwave it for 3 minutes to get the heat I desire, and it lasts around 20 minutes max. Also, as another reviewer pointed out, when you warm it up beyond the stated time (1 - 1/2 min. which doesn't get it nearly warm enough) the rice filling does get a certain "toasty" scent. Am going to try the Cherry Stone Neck Pillow ($25) next time.

Good shape, but could be wider and cover more of the upper back, nape of the neck. Still does an appropriate job.
Acceptable Easy Answer 2008-01-17
The insert for this product that contains the rice and flax has only a little baffling with only a little bit of grain in each one. It weighs about the same or even a little less than my tube-shaped The Original Bed Buddy Hot & Cold Pack, yet it is to provide heat to a much larger area. I find that it does not generate heat nearly as long as my other rice products, which I suspect is due to the fact that less grain is spread out of a larger area so it cools more quickly. As another reviewer noted it is hard to keep grains distributed evenly if you are in an upright position. This wouldn't be such an issue if there was more baffling and a bit more grain. Too much grain will get too heavy, but I think this product could withstand some more.
I bought this when I was suffering from some muscle pain in my shoulders and neck. Working out in front of myself on a computer and such was causing me trouble. I'm glad I ordered it because it was some instant relief with no effort on my part aside from typing in my credit card number, but I may be making myself another insert for the cover once I'm feeling a bit better and can sit at the sewing machine.

This product does give the moisture along with the heat. The only draw back is that it doesn't hold the heat long enough.

I like this neck & shoulder wrap, but it sheds the first couple of times you use it.

Ordered 2 of these as gifts. The people that got them loved them. To me they were a little heavy to wear on your shoulders. The shipping takes a long time - so just be aware when you order this.

overall a good product, although much bigger and bulkier than I expected. I thought it was going to be slimmer and more compact.

Works wonderfully to ease the tension and aching muscles of my neck and back.
I also bought the warming neck pillow and I can use the two together, snuggled up in the recliner or relaxing in bed. Afterwards, I feel relaxed and NO sore muscles. I am able to sleep better without waking up from sore muscles every time I move.
Very much worth the money. I am saving a lot not having to pay for a trip to the Spa for a massage!!! Plus my husband is happy to not have to listen to me complain about my aching back.
The wrap can also be used for the middle or lower back if lying in bed or sitting in a chair/recliner. It is as versatile as you want it to be...I even used it on my lower legs after working 3 nights in a row for 12 hour shifts.
I feel these products are safer than using a heating pad as the moist heat dissipates over time and there isn't the risk of burning or overheating associated with electric heating pads.
I highly recommend the shoulder wrap and neck pillow!!!

If you suffer from migraines as I do, I highly recommend this product. It helps so much by warming and relaxing your shoulder and neck muscles.
