great for migraines

We have used these for years. The pack does not stay cold for very long so we use two and switch them out as needed. The reason this is better than other cold packs is the weight. Most cold packs just sit on the face. This "buddy" molds itself with a gentle weight that helps to soothe the headache. Won't make it go away but will make you feel better during an episode. Make sure you put it into a bag while in the freezer. Being that it has a cloth covering it will absorb smells.

I use this product mainly at night when I have a bad cramp in my leg. I heat it in the microwave and it goes to work almost immediately to relieve the cramping.

Love it as hot pack

I haven't tried it as a cold pack, but I love it as a hot pack. It was great for when I had trouble breastfeeding my daughter. I also used it a lot for back problems. It is the perfect shape for these uses. I would just wrap it around my neck...even in the car!

This is a product that every home needs to have. Back pain- neck aches strike all of we humans- especially as we age,
These heat packs are flexible enough to be worn in a confortable manner.
It would be nice IF they would stay warmer longer. And IF they were washable- it would be a great improvement!

I love this Bed Buddy. I had one for years and wore it out. I was thrilled to find a replacement!

Nice Shape

This product's shape makes it extremely flexible in its application. I especially like to drape it down the side of my spin. Also great around wrists and elbows. The filling does shift a bit more than I would prefer, but this can be managed through familiarity with use. This, as all the Bed Buddy products I have used, is a great investment and value for the dollar.

Not the OLD Bed Buddy!!

The bed buddy has changed!! They've stitched a line down the middle so as to create a kind of "dual pipeline" effect. This ruins everything!! I spent a half-hour removing the stiching, and now it's just like my old Buddy and working great (*****). I disagree with the review that states that they've removed some stuffing -- once you remove the stiching, it's just like the old one. Dear Carex: get rid of the stiching!!! Also, FYI, I massage peppermint oil onto my neck between Bed-Buddy sessions, and over the months the stuffing has absorbed some of the oil - it's a little groaty, but it stays hot twice as long!!

I bought my first bed buddy when I came down with the flu a few years ago. It was the only thing that relieved 4 day headache. My husband and I regularly use it when we have a headache or shoulder ache. I recently ordered the bed budy designed for lower back pain and am hoping it works just as well.

What happened to the OLD bed buddy.

This product was manufactured in at least two different generations. In the first generation, the woven bag was stuffed with a lot more of the warmable material inside.

While the second generation prouct does produce heat and works reasoably well, it does not compare to the first go round.

I was disappointed, but did not return it. However, you might also want to consider the:

Great heat, but wish it would last longer

When the Bed Buddy is heated the maximum amount of time, I find it provides a really nice amount of moist heat. I also appreciate that it conforms to whatever shape you want to put it in. The only thing is that I wish it kept hot for longer - I think the heat is pretty much gone within an hour. I also have a hot water bottle that I use occasionally, which can retain some heat for an entire night, so maybe I'm just spoiled!
