How many batteries do you throw away each year? How many times does your camera shutter not open because one of the batteries has lost power? The list goes on and on. This device lets you test your batteries before you throw any of them away, as well as test those rechargeable batteries that have been sitting in your drawer before you put them in the camera.
Works Great

This is a much better battery checker than the older analogue one I've been using. Now, I can accurately check the state of the batteries from our many camera's and not throw out the good with the bad. Very compact and easy to use.
Exactly what I was looking for.

This battery tester does exactly what I was looking for. It tells me if my batteries are still powered up. You always wonder if those darn batteries that have been sitting in the closet for a long time are still fully charged. This battery tester does the trick. It accommodates all the size batteries we commonly use. I recommend this item.

I had the DX-900, and I was very happy with it. It was cheap and very handy. However one day I discovered that I had thrown away unknown numbers of batteries over the course of a year, because it was inaccurate. Digital does not necessarily mean accurate!!
So I had to go shopping again. I settled on this because 1) it's digital, 2) it's not self-powered (=cheapo, inaccurate). I'm very happy with it. It's attractive, accurate, and very handy.
It could be thinner, could be more attractive, and could require a little less force to insert the batteries for checking. But it's definitely good enough!
Paid for itself with one use

I toss old batteries in a sealed container before I take them to the local disposal site. When I tested all of them, I found that many were still at full strength - 2 9volt, 2 CR2, 6 AA, 4 AAA and found another dozen batteries with half life remaining. Unit was very easy to use and handles numerous battery types.
great battery tester!

I am forever trying to figure out if my kids toys don't work because the batteries are dead or the toy is dead. This meter is fantastic! It doesn't just give a readout of good or dead, it shows you how much is left in the battery on an easy to read LCD display. I realize it costs a little more, but the extra information it provides was worth the extra money. And as a bonus, I don't have to teach my wife and kids how to use my voltmeter -- they can easily use this!
