Terk Smart HDMI Switch 2008-07-15
The switch would not switch between HD DVR Cable box and a Blu-ray Player.
It would not work with the player, even with the cable box disconected.

Disappointed 2008-01-07
I bought this to switch between Dish DVR 622 receiver and a Panasonic upscaling DVD player. It worked great for about a month. Now, it won't switch from DVD to Dish, not even manually, no matter if the DVD is powered off. I unplugged the DVD from it, then it would switch to Dish. I can plug the DVD player back in and when I'm ready to watch a DVD, it will switch to DVD, but it won't switch back to Dish after that. I'm going to get a remote controlled switch to replace it.

Did not work 2008-01-02
Plugged an hd dvd and blu-ray player into it and neither would work at all. Even if I had only 1 player in it would not work. Don't waste your time with this piece of junk .

Works but flawed 2007-12-23
The product works but seems to need to "warm up" before the picture comes in without blanking in and out.

Does not work as advertised - I returned it 2007-12-01
This device would not "let go" of an active input, even with manual switching and so the second input would never be active. I literally had to uplug one HDMI input to get the other to work - useless! I returned it to Amazon and bought a Radio Shack 3 x 1 HDMI switch that can be remotely controlled from my DVD player's remote. That works perfectly. Stay away from this one.

It works for me - but I dont use the Audio feature of the HDMI 2007-04-16
This switch works very well for me. I have an HP Plasma TV with only 1 HDMI input, 1 HDTV Cable Box, 1 PS3, 1 Sony Receiver with 3 Optical Audio Inputs.
So, I have the Cable Box and the PS3 HDMI cables going into the Smart HDMI Switch - and 1 HDMI cable going from the Smart HDMI switch into the TV.
The picture quality is just as good as it was before (when I have either the Cable box or the PS3 going into the TV) - despite the fact that the signal is now traveling through 12 foot of HDMI cable (Someone told me that the HDMI cables shouldnt be longer than 10 feet or they lose quality).

The reason why I dont need the audio feature is because I have optical audio cables going from the Cable Box / PS3 into the Sony receiver.
I had it setup like this from the beginning so for me its not a problem.

About the Smart Switch: It works just like it says it will, if the Cable box is powered on then I get the cable signal. I switch the Cable box off - and turn the PS3 on and the Smart Switch goes into the PS3 signal.

Just like that! Now, I have read other reviews saying that there may be a problem with the audio signals. In this case make sure that you can return this Smart Switch without any hassles - if it doesn't work for you.

ZERO Star would be better choice if available 2007-03-29
To be expected from a parent company that produces low end car audio equipment. What good is a product that for me too fails on Audio with DTV-HD receiver. Only in my case, no degree of work arounds make it even usable in a handicaped mode. I will be seeking a return on this ASAP.

Device requires both sources to be on to pass A/V 2007-02-12
I was excited to get this device, it was small, fit perfectly with my Home Entertainment System and I quickly connected my upscaling DVD and my HD DirectV receiver to the inputs and the output to my TV. I got picture but no audio for my DirecTV. When I powered on the DVD the picture switched to the DVD and I had audio from the TV, when I manually switched the device I now had audio on the DirecTV. I then turned off the power to the DVD player and the picture remained and the audio went.

This device seems to work only when both sources are on and feeding it, my problem is that I only turn on my DVD player when I am about to use it whereas I watch the DirecTV all the time.

The A/V pass seems to be great though, no fall off in quality.
