Customer Reviews
Works great.

I bought this Wii Wireless Sensor Bar because my cat chewed through the wire on the sensor bar that came with the Wii. This one runs on batteries, but at least there isn't a wire for the cat to chew. There is a timer you can set so the bar doesn't stay on and using up the batteries when you're not using it. One night my husband played the Wii before bed and after we'd turned out the lights and gone to sleep the alarm on the sensor bar went off - it was loud enough to wake us up and the Wii is in a different floor of the house than our bedroom. So turn that off when you're done if you don't want the alarm going off.
I should have bought this months ago

We had problems with our regular sensor bar from the very beginning. We were never able to create our Miis. But, we've had no problems since we got this new wireless sensor bar. It works great. My only complaint is you can really go through the batterys.
Worth the Points

I got this from http://www.rewards1.com/index.php?referrer_id=341134 for doing some surveys and it was totally worth spending 18 points for. Its better than the one that came with the wii because those cords alway look so thin and I'm always afraid the cord will eventually snap. Although you always have to turn the sensor bar off when your done using it I think it's still worth the points.....maybe not worth $18 but deffinately worth the points.
Did anyone mention the annoying and blinding blue light?
2008-08-18
I agree with all of the other reviews. It's a great idea and does the job well. It is frustrating to have to turn on the device separately sometimes. I'm not sure how long the batteries last yet and that could change my opinion in the long run, but overall I like the device. Among all the complaints out there, I just wanted to throw one in about the very bright blue LED light on the front that's on to show when the device is on. It really is quite blinding and distracting when playing because it's aimed right at your face. That problem is solved with a little black tape, but it's just another little quirk the device has that makes it a little more annoying. It could have been better, but, like I said, it does the job.
Wonderful replacement

The wireless sensor bar is perfect!. I recently broke the bar that came with my system and I found this one on amazon. It works great. You have the option to setting the auto shut off timer to off, 1 hour or 2 hours. And if you have it on off, all you have to do to turn it off is hold the button down for a few seconds. It gets great range and the communication between the bar and the remote is very good. This is perfect for people that have kids who pull on cords or chewing animals. It removes the cord completely. I really recommend this with some rechargeable batteries. It far surpasses the sensor bar that comes with the system.
Pros: No Cable - Cons: Batteries

better range than the stock !

this has better range than the stock one! if you have range problems then get it if not stay with the original!
Bad

This is a horrible product. I really wanted to put my Wii far from the TV, thus neccessitating a wireless sensor bar.
The quality of the sensor bar is nowhere near as good as the original Wii one, frequently losing signal. It's not awful or unplayable or anything, but it's just clearly and significantly not as good as the original.
It also eats batteries for breakfast. I'd estimate the batteries last no more than 20 hours, because if I ever forget and leave it on overnight, the batteries are dead when I wake up. That means the battery drains almost faster than the wiimotes, which drain fast themselves!
Freakin' Awesome Works Great (MAY NEED TO ADJUST SENSITIVITY IN WII MENU FOR BEST RESULTS!!!)

At first the wireless bar had same problem mentioned in another review (it wasn't tracking unless I was right next to the bar. I went into wii menu and reset the Sensitivity factory wii setting is 3 I set it to 5 after checking 4. It works great from every angle and distance set at 5 now. So if your having that problem just go into wii menu and fix it very easy to do.
Awesome Product
It Works...

...that's all it really needed to do.
I needed a wireless sensor bar because my plasma is mounted on a wall. The wired sensor bar that came with the Wii would have been unsightly and the cord would have been too short to reach my A/V rack. So this is a great option to have. Just be sure to switch it off when you're done playing.
