Sometimes it works 2008-09-29
When it works, it's great. However, be prepared that sometimes you will have to fiddle around for quite awhile to find a setting on your radio tuner that is neither a radio station nor has too much static. Plus, even if you find a tuner setting that works, it may not continue to work. There seems to be variation based on time of day and also with how much concrete you are driving between (as in on the highway or through construction). So, it's nice when it works, but I find myself not wanting to bother with it. I think I'm going to look for another option.

Works really good 2008-09-21
I've had this item for 3 weeks and I'm quite satisfied with it.
It works really well with my Sansa C250. As it being a recharger too, it's always nice to get something that does 2 things at once. The volume doesnt adjust though on my sansa when its plugged in.
I live in the Seattle area and found that the 101.X frequencies work best for my Scion. The styling is really nice with the blue LCD and the quality of it looks sturdy. I just left the cord tied up the way it came so it wouldn't dangle everywhere. My sansa just hangs next to the side of my seat almost like a remote control. It was very easy to set up. No need to read instructions. You just have to play around and find the best preset for you. Would give it 5 stars if the audio time was over 90 percent of the time static proof but right now its at about 85 percent no static depending on where I drive and what song I'm listening to. Also the quality and bitrate of your mp3's will determine the sound quality.

Works Great! 2008-09-16
Great product. Can use any FM station that does not have a radio station signal. Not limited to only a few frequencies. Sound is not muffled like some products I've used. Very happy with this purchase. Can listen to my music in the mountains where I can not get a radio station.

FOR LOUD MUSIC ONLY 2008-09-13
I like this thing. It is easy to use and allows for instant upgrade to MP3 in my car. The downsides? There is always some level of static or other noise audible during quiet music. I don't notice it during loud music and the audio quality seems pretty good given my crappy little car stereo. The device is set on an unused radio channel. My 40 minute commute is through the suburbs. Under the circumstances, I was not expecting interference with the audio signal between the device and the radio. Second, the channel display on the transmitter is not visible when plugged into the lighter outlet. I have to bend way down to see it and cannot make adjustments while driving. Lastly, the device is bulky and interferes with the cup holder in my Honda Civic. If I had to do it over again, I would try another product.

Great accessory for Sansa 2008-08-25
The Maximo FM Transmitter works exactly as promised. Simple to hook up and use. Clear reception for me nearly all the time in a suburban/rural area. Keeps the palyer charged too. The volume isn't what I'd like but I suspect that's due more to the Sansa MP3 Player than the transmitter.

Good product but many outside influences 2008-08-24

Works well 2008-08-11
Works very well. Wish that the volume would go up a little more. Not sure whether it is the MP3 player or this transmitter. But volume must be turned up a little too high.

Good product, depends more on where you live though 2008-08-08
Good product, if you can find an empty station away from other powerful stations. The ability to change presets is awesome and very convenient. The volume is low though. I use a Sansa e280 in two cars one with a CD only and other car I use a $2 cassette adapter. Guess which one sounds WAY better. (Hint: The older technology, MUCH older.)

Works OK but lots of static 2008-07-22
I like the look and feel of this device.
The one real issue I have with it is the inability to block out even weak signals.
I live in a fairly rural area of East Texas but the FM dial is full.
Even the most weak stations bleed through with static and distortion. This is especially noticeable on quiet songs and between tracks.
The McCally cup holder unit I had for my stolen E280R was much better but they do not make a device like this for the Sansa Fuze.

I like it... 2008-07-18
It works in Alaska where there is very little FM coverage and plenty of dead areas. I will be trying it out in Florida shortly.

The quality is okay for my 50 year old ears. As previous posts have stated, you must have the most current upgrades is the Sansa firmware and you must make sure that the output volume is at least 75%.
