Editorial Review
The Phoenix® MB608 Magnetic recumbent bike allows you to sit with your back supported during the exercise. Also, the heart is in a direct line to the legs, which increases the cardio efficiency of the bike over a standard exercise bike.

Excellent machine 2008-09-29
The exercycle is everything it was designed to be. Easy to assemble, easy to use, quiet, comfortable - just superb.

Not bad for the money 2008-09-10
THe price is very reasonable for the bike. Putting it together wasn't so bad until trying to put both halves together. It's heavy, so it may require 2 person to easily put it together.

The seat is not easily adjusted once you set it up. The seat is comfortable, and the little monitor is perfect if you just need some basic readings like calories burned, milage, and etc.

All in all, the only thing I would wish for is that the seat could be more easily adjusted. Also, the little switch for the resistance doesn't seem to want to stay on. But other than that, it's not a bad bike for the money.

Great for casual exerciser 2008-09-06
Overall the product is well built and can easily handle the advertised 250lbs. However, if you are on the high end of the weight scale and in some form of reasonable fitness the maximum resistance will not be enough for you.

After having a few upright bikes I can say that this reclining model is much easier on your back and wrists. The padding on the seat does leave a little to desire, but it's easily bearable for 1hr rides.

All needed parts were included and it went together in about 30 minutes.

Like everything else in the world you get what you pay for. The computer frequently will not turn itself off even after hours of non-use. The dial to adjust the tension broke after the first day (springs back to max resistance when you set it). You can get around this with a little bit of tape to stick it where you want it. Realistically though, you won't be using this bike on anything but the hardest setting - so it's not that much of an impact for me.

In summary, this is a great bike to buy if you don't have very strong legs, or are a casual exerciser. I'm not in fantastic shape but the hardest resistance is really a little too easy. It is made in China but does seem reasonably well engineered. The faults with it can easily be overlooked (unlike other bikes the resistance is set mechanically, the computer could completely die on this bike and you wouldn't miss out on anything). It seems like it will be fairly durable, when/if it does break mechanically I will probably try a different model in the same price range.

never give up! 2008-08-31
I love my new exercycle! I am 79 yrs old and needed to exercise. I had another bike, but could no longer lift my legs high enough to get over the middle bar. (I have artificial hips and knees) With this new cycle. I can just sit and slide my leg across and onto the peddle. I have facing the TV and try to do it 3x a day for about 10 min. each time. In three weeks I have lost 10 lbs! Yippee! There's hope for me yet. It is so quiet and comfortable too; I love it!

Great quality, Great price 2008-08-19
I needed a basic, high quality recumbent bike after spraining my ankle per my physical therapist as I couldn't do my normal workout. I also live in a studio apartment and don't have a lot of space. This bike is perfect: high quality, low price, doesn't take up a lot of space, quiet, stable, & sturdy. Easy to assemble. It arrived quickly and in good condition. I couldn't find this bike at a store, so Thank You Amazon.com!

ANNOYING 2008-06-05
BIKE CAME SHIPPED THROUGH AMAZON. JUST AS THE OTHER REVIEWS I HAD READ AND DISREGARDED, THE BIKE HAD BEEN DAMAGED IN SHIPPING. THE BOX WAS MUTILATED. I OPENED IT ANYWAY, HOPING IT WOULD BE FINE. THE BOX WAS SOAKED LIKE IT HAD BEEN DROPPED IN A PUDDLE AND IT CLEARLY STATED ON THE INSTRUCTIONS NOT TO GET WET. HAD A BIG HOLE THROUGH THE SIDE OF THE BOX. ANYWAY, OPENED BOX, TOOK EVERYTHING APART AND THE MAIN FRAME OF THE BIKE HAD A GIANT HOLE THROUGH IT. SO I HAD TO SHOVE EVERYTHING BACK IN THE BOX. THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE? I DIDN'T HAVE TO DRAG THE 60LB+ PACKAGE TO UPS, THEY PICKED IT UP FOR ME. DON'T REALLY KNOW IF THE BIKE IS ANY GOOD, I GOT A REFUND. I CAN TELL YOU THAT I WON'T BE SHOPPING THROUGH AMAZON AGAIN ANY TIME SOON.

Little old lady 2008-06-04
I purchased the Phoenix 99608 to rehab my knee injured a few months ago. It's great! I couldn't ask for more features - they're easy to read and easy to set up. However, setting up the machine itself wasn't so easy. The holes on the seat back weren't aligned properly so it was a real task to install the back. The machine is quite heavy too, so if you can't lift a lot I'll be glad to send my 15 year old grandson over to set up your bike too! Operation was a bit noisy a first but some 409 strategically placed as directed in the instruction manual took care of that.

Good deal 2008-05-02
Very pleased. I use it whenever weather prevents me from walking outdoors. I am not a person who enjoys indoor exercise and have tried treadmill and eliptical machine but hated it and eventually stopped using them. This bike is quiet, can sit and watch TV or videos on my computer while I bike. I just put my laptop on a little table next to me. The foot straps are a good idea. If it folded up for storage it would be perfect, but it is not too difficult to push it to the side of the room.

Perfect for Beginners 2008-04-08
I am a beginner when it comes to any exercise machine. I've looked at tons of different bikes, but this one was great for the money. It took a little time to put together, but the instructions were very easy to follow. It works great! The calorie counter and such are not accurate but the timer and miles are right on the nose. It is very quiet and easy to use while watching tv or reading a book. I have found this bike to be the perfect purchase for beginners for the price. If I could change anything about this bike it would be the digital output. It is a little small and very basic. If you are just looking for a cycle to ride instead of trying to keep track of calories, this would be perfect for you!
