There is an amazing little instrument from southern Africa known as either the thumb piano or the Mbira or the Kalimba. Whatever you call it, it is simple to play, plays in tune and teaches melody and rhythm. Great for family jams and inspiring studies of Africa. 12-note Mbira (they call it a thumb piano) is 7-3/8" long x 5-5/8" wide. Made of walnut hardwood. (AGES 3+)
