Cambridge PlayDock for Zen Vision:M 2008-01-04
I'm not an audio buff, so I couldn't tell you how this unit rates compared to a Bose system or whatever; however, to my untrained ears, the sound quality is very good - crisp, clear and much like the high-priced "big sound/small system" packages. Took me 10 minutes top to unpack, set up and understand -- easy controls. I read a review that stated the FM tuner did not work for the 30GB unit - not true for me; an antenna that plugs in to the top of my player came with the package and works as well as any other system in my house although there are a few stations a little further away that I can never seem to pick up from any other place than my car stereos. The overall appearance of the system is fairly low key - not built to be a centerpiece but to cleverly blend in with the surroundings. Very happy with purchase.

Good sound, good deal 2007-12-29
I got this for my wife and at the same time I got my brother a Bose Sounddock portable for his iPod. Although you can't use the Bose for the Zen or the Playdock for the iPod, I thought comparing the sound would be helpful since you can listen to a Sounddock in any electronics store. I am very happy with the sound of the Playdock. It is just as easy to use as the Bose and sounds as good if not better. The remote works very well, allowing you to switch between MP3, radio, wide/stereo mode, and videos. You can also select the menu with the remote and scroll through menu choices. It comes with a video connector cable, multiple adapter cradles, a cable to connect a non-Zen MP3 player, and a cable that acts as an FM antenna if you have the Zen M 30 GB (the built-in antenna works with the 60GB Vision M). You can feed it 8 C-cell batteries if you want to go mobile (the one plus the Bose has over this is the Bose has a built-in lithium-ion battery). I am so pleased with the Playdock that I plan to order another as soon as Amazon gets them in stock so I can have one for my Zen (my wife plans to take hers to work, dang!).

quality product 2007-12-22
Gave our 14-year-old daughter this docking station for early Christmas present and it is nice. Setup and operation must be simple because she's never asked a single question. Sound quality is great - better than any boom box we purchased for her in the past. A little pricey for a docking station and fm radio compared to all the ipod products out there but I have no knowledge of their quality. This station does have a remote which is obviously handy for laying around in bed while playing your Zen that sits on your dresser. She controls all sound functions plus can search her play list with it. $170 was more than I thought I'd have to pay but there are few choices for the Zen mp3 players. I am happy with the sound and quality of the product though.

Bad Business all together 2007-12-19
I looked here at Amazon from a link provided by my wife to buy this particular product. It was "Out of Stock", so I found the Cambridge Soundworks website and found that they still had some "In Stock". I placed my order and after 7 days of them processing my order I called them. Apparently the item I ordered was "Out of Stock" and I must have been able to order it before they could update their site. The Customer Service Rep also told me that it usually takes them about 24hrs to update the site. So I asked why was I not contacted at all about this after 7 days?
So I cancelled my order there and had to come home with hat in hand about how one of the big presents for my wife's Christmas was not going to make it for the big morning. She then found it on Amazon again "In Stock", again from Cambridge, so we ordered it...again. Amazon sent us an email the next morning that the item was in fact "Out of Stock".
At this point I can only believe that both companies are in the business of bait and switch on the holidays and I think it stinks. I build websites that have ecommerce...I know that there are ways to control your stock up-to-date even when other people are selling your merchandise. I am only left with the conclusion that they are taking these orders just to secure orders, knowing very well that they will not be shipped anywhere near Christmas. This kind of practice would be okay if it was stated anywhere during the ordering that it was guaranteed that it would not be shipped until date X, but even on Amazon there are ads all over to take advantage of quicker shipping to make sure you get it on Christmas.
Buyer beware. If they can't guarantee it, then don't do business online with them.
Amazon...you shoud review your list of "businesses" that you do business wtih as well.
Is the product good? I don't even think it matters at this point. I'm just upset that I now see this product again for sale on your site when you know damn well it's Out of Stock.

Excellent sounding Speaker System! 2007-11-13

remote functions limited with Zen V plus 2007-10-29
I recently bought a Playdock Zen. I found that the remote control back (left pointing arrow) and scroll (up and down arrows) functions do not work with the Zen V Plus player. I assumed the remote was broken, but I was told by Creative technical support that by design these functions do not work. This means that one cannot access, scroll through, or select from the menu, making the remote mostly useless. The documentation does not explain these deficiencies, but rather describes functions for all buttons on the remote. This product is poorly designed.

portable speakers 2007-10-27
Sound quality is good (not great), but the price was right. Easy to use and works well with my Zen.

Awesome! 2007-10-21
At first, I was unimpressed with the sound output on this stereo. However, I soon discovered that this was because the bass wheel (near the bottom of the back of the stereo) was turned completely off, and the sound amplifier (next to the 'on' button) was also off. Adjusting both of these made an UNBELIEVABLE difference!

I can't believe that I don't have to deal with CD's anymore! My music is completely digital (and therefore safe), and now I can listen to all of the songs (on playlists, albums, by artist, etc.) on this wonderful stereo. The design is very modern, minimalist, and aesthetically pleasing, and it also provides the extremely convenient service of charging your Zen player WHILE it plays music! I don't think I will ever use my wall-charger again!

Some people may find its size displeasing: it IS a bit small (a few inches over a foot long), but the sound quality is so good that I don't see this as a deterring factor. I could not be more pleased with this product.

You will love it! 2007-10-17
The Cambrige soundworks for the ZEN, is a wonderful product! It fully charges as it plays for hours of music at work or at home. Accessories for the Zen are hard to find but I am glad I kept looking it was well worth it.
