Really like these phones

After about 1-month, we are very satisfied with these phones. The reception is superior to other cordless phones that I have had in the past and cover our entire house and yard (which because of topology has been a problem for our prior cordless phones). To be fair, we do not make use of a lot of the special features, but I do find the speaker phone to be very good. The only thing preventing me from giving this a 5-star rating is that I would like the digital answering machine clarity to be a little better, but it is actually quite a bit better than our prior, separate Radio Shack digital answering machine.

I recently purchased this phone on amazon.com. Got a very good price for 4 handset phones and so far pleased with the phones. There is a lot of room for improvement for this phone I thought. Few things which I think it lacks are:
1. LCD display on the base unit which displays phone number you are dialing in case you are using base dial pad
2. Illuminated buttons
3. Headset option for the base - I really hate that the phone does not have it. This phone has excellent speakerphone quality but additional headset jack to the base unit could have made it a perfect phone for someone who can use this as home office phone.
4. Alarm setting - I have not explored the phone to the fullest and could find that alarm could be set only once which seems kind of odd. At least there should be an option to set alarm for a particular time of the day everyday till you turn it off.
Overall, the phone build is nice. Glad to get a phone made in Malasia than "CHINA", although battery is made in China !. Would certainly suggest this phone to everyone who is looking for good sound quality, no interference with wireless and expandability of 4 handsets. Consider another option if you are going to use it as a home office phone where you prefer to use headsets while talking than speakerphone.

I have had this system for about a year now, and love it. The talking Caller ID is really convenient, and is usually loud enough to be heard all over the house. While the text-to-speech is not perfect, I can always understand what it's saying.
I have had no problems with reception or interference. My old 2.4 GHz Panasonic phone (also a great phone but retired to another room) often had interference problems when the microwave oven was on, but not this unit. The ringers are plenty loud enough, as is the receiver volume while in calls. The speaker phone is loud and clear.
Only minor complaint is the lack of belt clip. I often use a headset on my phone, but this one doesn't have a clip to hold it on my belt. A clip would be nice, but I realize that not everyone uses a headset so it's not a big deal.
Excellent phone system all around, my previous two cordless phones have been Panasonic and my next one will be too.

This phone system has worked flawlessly inside a large house. It was an excellent buy for the price, with an amazing feature set.

We have been shopping for a very good phone for a long time, and when I visited Fry's Electronics or Best Buy, they always recommended this model of Panasonic 5.8 GHZ phone with 2, 3, or 4 handsets among over 50 wireless phones they had in stock. But I was waiting for this phone to go on sale until I found it in Amazon.com for a best price, and I am very happy I purchased it. It has very sophisticated features that I have not seen in other phones. Quality of sound is excellent, and every handset speaks and tells us who is calling without touching a handset.
I don't have to have phone line in other three rooms in order to pickup the phone and have a quality conversation.

I purchased this system to replace an aging Vtech system. I wanted clear, clear reception. This is ok, I don't experience any fuzz or static so I appreciate that. The sound quality is decent, but not superb. I can talk outdoors up to about 35 feet, so that feels limited to me as my other phone allowed me to continuing chatting around my entire 1/4 acre yard. I really dislike that the answering machine does not provide any kind of date or time stamp, and does not let me know visually how many messages are waiting for retrieval. I do enjoy thecaller ID anounce - the "accent" and name interpretations are a source of amusement for us. :-)
I am keeping the phone because it gets the job done well enough and returning is actually just too much of a hassle. this is a good phone, but not great.
Phone echos big time - DO NOT BUY

Do yourself and do not waste your money. Voice echos big time in this phone. Meaning you can hear your own voice echoing back to you while speaking on the handset. It is extremely frustating. I had seen a similar complain but it was only one person making such complain, so I thought it is probably a one off situation. But it is not. Panasonic support has not been able to solve the problem. I will be returning this phone at my own expense and probably will have to pay some restocking fee...not sure. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. There are plenty of other choices. I am very disappointed with Panasonic...it is so clearly echoing...how come it passed quality control.

Panasonic KX-TG6074B 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Answering System with 4 Handsets
This system replaced everything I currently had in the house (phones, answering machines and etc). I'm very happy with the system. However the Answering Machine Greeting is a little garbled. I knew this before I bought the system so no big deal. Time will tell how long it holds up for I keep things forever.

This phone system is wonderful! Clear sound, easy to use. We especially appreciate the "intercom" feature which allows us to "call" the teenager in the basement! Over the years, we have owned many phones but have always found the Panasonics to have the best quality, sound, battery life and easy to use features.
Panasonic Phone - Don't Bother 2008-07-07
Just a warning: the adapters go bad on these units. I had two go bad within six months and another within a year of purchase. Panasonic sent two replacement adapters but refused to send the third. Very frustrating to deal with. Customer service was a joke. All the reps told me different things. One minute they could not find the receipt I had faxed with the first replacement request and the next rep found it with no problem. I have had $10 phones work better for longer.
I usually do not post comments but thought perhaps I could warn someone else to not waste their time or money. Interesting, the replacement adapters were on back order for more than 4 months - think anyone else was having problems?
