Good phone, moderate handset speaker sound 2008-07-02
Got this phone to supplement existing panasonic phone (excessive talking!). The talking caller-id is especially helpful to filter out tele-marketers during dinner time. The handset speaker volume is moderate only at the highest setting.

Excellent 2008-05-15
Works as advertised. Delivered on time and in perfect condition, even though the box had been previously opened (as indicated by Amazon when I purchased it).

4.5 out of 5 2008-05-09
These are pretty nice, considering they are 5.8 GHz so they don't interfere with your wireless, and that they have nice voice quality and very nice features.

I personally don't use caller ID or talking caller ID (which is one of the features on this phone) so I can't really say much about it, but you can find out for yourself. There is voice enhancement, which works well I suppose, and slow talk for people who have slow hearing. The phonebook is easy to use and convenient if you have many contacts, and you can send them from one set to another so you don't have to customize everything. There is also a wide variety of ringtones you can choose from.

Some things that might improve this product is the speaker phone; it could be a bit louder, but at that volume, it is also pretty clear. The answering machine cannot be heard when someone listens to it, so you don't know if they hung up, if you didn't pick up. The number pads would be nice if they had back-light for dark clarity.

In all, its a great phone, hope you like it.

Overall, a good phone 2008-04-22
We purchased this phone because our old phone was only 2.8 GHz and it was interfering with our wireless internet. The old phone would knock us off of the internet. Overall, the phone is great. We have always purchased Panasonic phones and they last. I would have kept our old phone if it had not been for the internet. Two things that I do not like about this phone is that the key pad does not light up, so if you are in minimal light, you may not be able to see the numbers you are pushing. The second is that the phone will not display how many messages you have or whether you have old messages saved. I loved the old phone we had because it would tell how many messages we had, whether old or new. Something to keep in mind if you like to keep track of your messages. I love that it is lightweight and easy to use. I was able to feed my daughter her bottle and still hold the phone with my shoulder. Also like the talking feature. Helpful when you are playing with your kids in the other room and you don't necessarily want to run for every call. The Caller ID feature is very nice!

just great.... as long as it's the only piece of electronic equipment in your house!!! 2008-04-14
THE BASE MAKES RANDOM INTERFERENCE / CLICKING NOISES EVEN WHEN NOT IN USE!!! I can't believe all the positive reviews of this piece of junk. Previously I had owned a Panasonic 900Mhz cordless phone for over 10 years. It had lasted me though over 6 different moves around the city and to 3 other states, always working flawlessly and rarely having any interference problems whatsoever, even with the advent of cell phone mania, MP3 players with FM tuners, bluetooth devices, and of course wireless internet signals all swarming around my apartment. I finally had to replace the 10 year old phone because of a problem with the handset volume becoming inaudible. But other than that, still no problems with interference whatsoever. So I buy this new piece of technology with its "improved 5.8Ghz range" (bypassing the 2.4Ghz generation altogether), and what happens? The base of the phone makes random "clicking" noises when you're not even using the phone!! Then, when you do use it, sometimes from only 3-4 feet away, you press "Talk" and nothing happens...the phone can't communicate with the base. I wanted to make sure it wasn't just defective, so I called my parents for whom this past Christmas I bought the same model (silver version, instead of black). They've been having the same exact problems. They live in rural PA and barely use their cell phones at all. Then I called tech support. Their solution? "Unplug the phone, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in." So i did it, and it fixed the problem. For about a day. Then it starts up again. Their next fix? "Move the phone away from other electronics to a different place in your house." I'm sorry, I actually like to place the objects in my bedroom where they're convenient for me to reach from bed, which incidentally happens to be the same place it's convenient for me to reach my alarm clock, my cell phone, and my lamp. So now I have to get up and run across the room every time the phone rings, or alternatively "reboot" my phone every day!??? What a joke! I thought the whole reason to "upgrade" to 5.8Ghz or 1.9Ghz was to have LESS interference problems. Funny how I didn't have any interference problem at 900Mhz but I do now. The fact that unplugging it fixes it temporarily proves that it is a SOFTWARE problem, not a hardware problem, that could be fixed. I asked if there was a way to change frequencies manually, like my old 900Mhz phone. Nope, "it's automatic, you can't change it." So just out of curiosity, I went to Staples and bought one of those $10 Trimline corded phone like i used to talk on back in 1989 when i was in junior high. I called my friend and didn't tell him what phone I was on. He said I sounded better than any phone he had ever heard in his life. All this upgraded technology is a joke. I returned this piece of garbage to Amazon for a refund. I'm tempted to go buy a corded phone and just keep it by my bed. Who needs all these wireless technology headaches and brain cancer when we could all hear each other better and have less problems talking on a good old fashioned Trimline phone like we did when we were 14 years old? This product should never have made it through QA testing. It should be recalled.

Great product, 2008-04-07
I wanted a cordless with speaker on the base, which it has;great. I wish they made one wall unit, and the other a cordless. I had to hang one phone on the wall and it looks weird.

Otherwise, very good features, and good quality phone.

Excellent choice 2008-04-05
This phone system has surpassed my expectations. I'd been having a lot of my problems with my old system and wasn't sure how much was the phone and how much the line. Well, having installed my new system, I'm experiencing crystal clear reception and no problems of any kind receiving or making calls. I like the look and feel of the system too, and having an extra handset is great when my husband wants to share in a call. Excellent product!

Great phone 2008-03-31
Easy setup, easy operation, no complaints. Read the other reviews they have lots of details, no need for me to repeat them.

Home Phone 2008-02-13
I have enjoyed the features of this phone. Voicemail, talking caller ID, cordless/portable. The clarity of sound is exceptional with absolutely no interference. Early days yet but I hope to feel the same way for a long time.
