Good... for the money

This table is defintely worth the cheap price that I paid for it. It looks nice and it lifts up and down with ease. The only problem is that it doesn't quite go all the way down and there is a small gap. Not THAT noticeable though.

I have both the coffee table and corner/end table from this Chinese manufacturer.

These tables have (what I think of as quarter-sawn) oak veneer inlaid in the center of the tops in a 4-section alternating pattern which is both interesting and attractive. This detail doesn't show up too well in the pictures here. This table looks nicer in person than you can see here online.

I believe my tables had a "Lane" label on them (I bought them from a brick-and-mortar store specializing in recliners) and I had assumed this meant they were USA-made. Oh well.

The lift top is counter-sprung so it holds its own against gravity. If you lift the top part way before it comes back down to it's fully extended position, the top will not fall but instead holds it's position. A nice safety feature!
The steel brackets and support arms are substantial and hold the top rigidly as it swings up and out. The top remains parallel to the floor while it comes up.
Inside the table are two compartments providing discreet storage for TV remotes and magazine-sized items, a feature which can help you keep a clean look in your front room or family room, while keeping things handy.

I am not a small guy, and these tables have no problem with me sitting on them. The table tops are thick and the legs are attached securely with multiple bolts.

The finish is done in the popular semi-gloss and all corners are comfortably rounded. The wood grain is not completely filled so you get the feel of the real wood construction.

Under the table are 4 small wheels that will aid in moving the table, but they are set low enough so that the table legs can sink into carpet, an arrangement which provides a solid purchase for the table against rolling away from you when you lift the top up.
If someone were to place this table on a hard surface such as slate flooring, they may want to remove the wheels.

The under-table shelf is done in the same type of veneer as is the top and is similarly solid.

My least favorite part of the table is the construction of the legs, which was done by cutting a series of triangular sections lengthwise out of the back of a flat composition board, then re-gluing the legs into a crescent, which now comprises small 3/4" angular sections, instead of it's having been milled into a smooth curve (sorry if this is hard to follow, this part is difficult to describe) -then the veneer was placed on top of the multi-angle substructure. It more approximates a curve than is a curve.
But this is a detail your guests will probably never notice. This technique no doubt saves lots of material and difficult woodworking.

All in all, I am pleased with this table, and would probably buy it again. The price shown here at Amazon is a great price by the way.
