I have bad hips and knees and this folding cane seat is excellent not just for walking but for resting (especially when your waiting for the bus and there are no seats). It is a little heavier than my regular cane but not by much.
I highly recommend this item for those who need to sit and rest a while in between walking, shopping, waiting for public transportation and even on public transportation when there are no seats (ie I have used it on the LIRR).

This portable folding seat/cane is really the ticket. We are taking a trip to Europe, and both of us have mobility problems--difficulty with standing still (as in lines) and walking distances. This will allow us to spell ourselves.
It seems durable; not at all wobbly under 230 lbs of body weight. The sling seat can be a little snug on a sizable derriere, but any larger might make the system unworkable as a cane. It's lightweight. When the seat is folded closed, the two handles are at different heights. Purposefully, I am sure, so that you can wrap your hand around one or the other. Quad canes are much more stable than single-pole canes.

I had shingles and lost the use of my right leg and this cane was light weight, very stable, and very easy to convert into a seat. The seat is large enough to feel stable since it is a sling type, is very comfortable. I will keep it handy for future spectator events where I might get tired of standing, but don't want to carry a chair along. A bit pricey, but falling is a very pricey event!
