Great Notebook 2007-07-13
I bought mine new on on sale for $750.00, but after purchasing all of the software that I needed it came to be about $960.00. I think it is a great computer for the price. The screen resolution is terrific. It works excellent for internet and e-mail. This machine has so far exceeded my expectations.

Misleading 2007-06-13
DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. It does not run the new Aeors features despite having the required memory and Vista Premium O/S. It has the wrong graphic card. No where does Toshiba tell you this. Do not buy it.

Excellent value 2007-05-14
I picked up this notebook at OfficeMax for $650 (regular $800). Overall, I am very pleased with the machine. It's very lightweight and easy to carry, but still powerful enough to be a desktop replacement.

Pros: Lots of computer for the money: Core Duo processor, 120GB SATA, 1GB RAM, beautiful widescreen display, Vista Home Premium

Cons: Keyboard layout is odd to make room for the never-used multimedia control keys, difficult to downgrade from Vista to XP (took many hours to find correct drivers), headphone jack in front makes it hard to use in cramped spaces such as an airplane.

Toshiba Satelite A135-S4427 2007-05-14
The computer seems to operate good for what I use it for. Mainly surf the net do email and some other stuff. Not much software comes with it, mostly garbage programs. Windows Vista seems to function pretty good. Internet Explorer 7 seems to do its own thing from time to time. It likes to minimize the screen whenever you click on something in the dialogue box. Not fun and gets very annoying after a while. Some of the buttons on the keyboard are in a different place than usual but you get used to it. The screen looks good. Overall not a bad buy but I'm not a techno wizard.

EXCELENT NOTEBOOK AND COST/BENEFIT 2007-05-13
EXCELENTT NOTEBOOK
HI-TECH PRODUCT FROM TOSHIBA THAT'S A REFERENCE OF NOTEBOOKS IN THE WORLD.
NICE COST/BENEFIT, CONSIDERING THE MARKET OF NOTES.
ONE GOOD POINT IS 4 USB PORTS. YOU CAN PLUG A LOT THINKS AND DON'T NEED TO BY A HUB.OTHER THINK, IS 15.4 WIDESCREEN LCD, THAT IMPROVE HIGH-RESOLUTION IMAGE.BATTERY LIFE IS THE SAME AS THE OTHER NOTES.DVD-RW WORKS VERY NICE IN ALL TYPE OF MIDIAS, INCLUDING DUAL LAYER DVD AND CDRW.A NEGATIVE POINT IS TOSHIBA SHOULD SEND A TRANSPORT BAG TOGETHER. THAT'S ALL.
I RECOMEND THIS PRODUCT

Nice Laptop To Have For Home Use And Schoolwork 2008-07-20
My mother purchased this as a college gift for me when I begun to study my minor. It wasn't the laptop that I wanted but I'am satisfied with it. The only flaws about it is that sometimes applications might load up very slowly or it might shut itself down as well as freeze up. I would recommend a Mac Powerbook if you are a very computer savvy person or creates web pages like myself.

Decent budget notebook, few irritating design flaws 2007-12-20
Decent hardware for the price (got it for around $500 a few months ago, can't believe they're still selling it for close to $1000.)

It runs Vista perfectly well, including the new Aero interface (contrary to the statement in another review.)

Few irritating problems:
- It has only one CTRL key, sitting on the left, so if you are used to hitting CTRL on the right of the keyboard, this will take some getting used to (it makes some features of PowerPoint incredibly awkard to use.)
- It has no built in mircrophone (must have saved at least 10c there ....)
- It comes with endles useless software from Toshiba that takes a long time to exterminate, including a remarkably ill-conceived program that causes images of the function keys to appear every time the mouse pointer moves near the top of the screen

the worst laptop I have ever had 2007-11-16
I have owned about 8 laptops in my life and this is definately the worst one. I bought it with Vista and loaded nothing on but MS Office. These programs, and even the Internet Exporer that was already loaded are barely functional. There are so many bugs, especially with the touchpad. It is running at nearly 100% CPU much of the time even though I am not doing anything, and it crashes several times per day. I thought it was a Vista problem but last week I bought a new Sony Vaio with Vista and it works brilliantly. I now have an expensive doorstop and will never buy another Toshiba product. Unfortunately I bought two Toshibas at the same time, this one and another higher end model, which is also now just sitting there in the corner since it also barely works

Stay AWAY! Wish I had never bought it! 2007-10-19
I have had this thing for about 6 months and it has been in the shop 3 times already for bad hard drives. Yesterday the "new" hard drive put in under warranty AGAIN went bad. This thing has been in the shop more than it has been at my house. When it does work it is very slow, even setting the windows settings for high performance and no frills. I can't say one good thing about this laptop.

laptop 2007-08-24
My first Laptop. I have nothing to compare it to. It works well. easy to use. It did not seem as though I had used it 2 hours and the battery went low. I did get a clear warning on the computer. No complaints
