You're not going to find a better sounding system for the money anywhere. We use it in our living room connected to laptop listening to music and audio books and we love them. Full rich sound for both types of media.

Really a terrific set of speakers. The iPod charging station makes it a great addition to your desk setup. Truly a great design and package.

These speakers pack some great power, for 2.1 speakers they are unbelievable, and for the small price tag, there's no reason not to get them. The bass sounds great and packs a punch, if you want them to listen to music, or play video games, or even watch some football, they are great.

THese speakers are completely worth the $40 price tag. The sub is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, its about the size of half my size 13 shoe box. But then again, its louder than I expected it to be after seeing how small it is. If you're just after some good sound, nothing super loud, then these are perfect. If you want the bass to slap then it's just not enough.
The speakers are as good as anything I've heard. Rich low and mid tones, maybe a little shy on the higher notes, but they sound really good and get pretty loud too.
I'd buy these again in a second. Super easy to set up. The dock thing is pretty cool, and everything works really well.

These speakers look fine upon installation, but the sound quality can only be called pathetic. The static noise is constantly in the background. The treble is weak and inaccurate. The adapter does not work with iPod Touch. About the only redeeming feature is the loud bass. Unfortunately, I am a classical music guy, so the bass is quite irrelevant to me.
In short, a good option for heavy metal fans, especially those who are hard on hearing already. Otherwise, one should avoid it like plague.

Very Good Speakers for the Price 2008-09-12
I just bought 2 of these units and I was quite pleased with it's performance. I expected more of a typical cheap PC speaker attachment but when I hooked it up and played some MP3 files on my PC, OMG... I was surprised on the volume and clarity of the sound. I also hooked up my Zune 80 and was also pleased with the performance. The second unit was set up in my Daughter's room and we tested playing music from her Zune 30 through it and again was surprised on the clarity of the sound and the volume. The best part is that for under $35 per unit from Amazon, there was no tax and the shipping was free.
Great speakers at a great price 2008-09-07
I just purchased these speakers today and I already love them. The sound is crisp and clear and they do a great job of filling my apartment up with music! Some other reviewers on here mention that the speakers hiss or buzz. They do, but wait. Before you are turned off entirely, let me say that they do not compromise the sound quality! You can't hear the buzz/hiss unless there is a break in the music and you have your ear right up against the speaker. The buzz/hiss does not become louder if the volume is turned up, so it is really a non-issue. These speakers are excellent for a 2.0 option. I highly recommend them! FYI: There is a little MP3 player dock built in that is a really neat feature.
Sweet Little Speakers! 2008-08-15
I bought these speakers because I was tired of listening to my music on crappy laptop speakers. I see what people are talking about by the "hum". When I plugged them in, the subwoofer hums a little - HOWEVER, if you are playing music, you don't hear it and if you aren't using the speakers, then just turn them off and viola - no hum. The little subwoofer pumps sound. I'm actually worried I might annoy the neighbors and I don't even play my music that loud!!! I will also be using the speakers to watch movies and the sound is great. I'm no connoisseur of speakers, but from one lover of music to another - these are a great bargain!!! I'm glad I didn't spend any more money - plus, these are currently being shipped free - huge savings - GO FOR IT - they are worth $40!!!!
Good value speakers 2008-08-10
I was looking for a decent set of computer speakers with a subwoofer and an iPod dock. For $40 the Logitech X-240 seemed like a good deal to try. How true! I had actually first tried a similarly priced set from Best Buy that was terrible. Now, I'm no audiophile, but the X-240 speakers sound just great to me. We're not listening to music on a high-end audio/home theater system, but mostly mp3's on a computer after all.
The set is physically very conveniently compact to fit in and under a small workstation area. The separate iPod dock is also the speaker volume control. I know some people have complained that the dock is too light to stay put when all the cords/wires are connected. I have found, however, that while that is initially true, it quickly stops being an issue when you settle on a good ergonomic spot on your desk for the dock. Also, a nice feature is being able to use the speakers with your iPod while the computer is off.
Again, I think these speakers are a really good value for the average computer user that wants decent sound for a very reasonable price.
