issues 2008-07-25
I gave this as a gift and have the person I gave it to has had several issues with the MSN direct software. I even paid for additional coverage and it still won't work. The gps portion is fine but I got this unit for the added extras of MSN direct. He's called, I called and they have yet to get it right now they will only honor the warrenty if we had the original box it came in. It's not what I paid for. Caution folks this item has some technical issues!

easy to use 2008-07-25
I am very happy with this GPS. I have delayed in buying one, and this is perfect. I love being able to hook up my phone with it, and use it when I am driving. Much better than an ear piece.

Love my Garmin 2008-07-24
Appreciate the bluetooth feature as well as navigation accuracy. Just dismayed that Amazon price is now much lower than the price I paid!

Love the Garmin StreetPilot 2008-07-22
We bought the StreetPilot because we were going to be visiting the Los Angelos area. It was great. We would put in the destination and it guided us through the freeways. It told us which way to turn and which way the exit we needed would go off (right or left).

When we hit traffic at peak hours it would guide onto surface roads. Now I want to go on another vacation just to use it more!

Awesome GPS! 2008-07-21
I have used this for a month and it is worth every penny! Those of you like who i was, who always map quest things and staring at stupid piece of paper during trips and getting lost.. buy this now! Plus, it really does help get out of traffic jams and can show you any store you want to go to! I also strongly recommend going to http://www.poi-factory.com/ and you can get all kind of way points for anything you can think of! BUY THIS NOW!

So glad I upgraded 2008-07-20
I love this Garmin. For the money it does everything I would ever want. I use it as my hands-free phone while in the car. It works great. I can dial, use my phonebook, and receive calls with ease. I get the latest routes and redirects me when I want a detour so easily. I can get traffic information and avoid the hassle of traffic jams. The screen is nice and big, easy to see. You can choose a voice to suit you, male, female and different accents. Not that this is necessary, but being able to choose my own little car icon is neat. This winter season I can' wait to change my vehicle to a Christmas tree. The price was right, the shipping couldn't have been beaten, I was headed on vacation to Florida, the timing was right. Great buy you won't forget.

Incredible even for first time users! 2008-07-19
After 3 days with a Garmin StreetPilot in my rental car, I decided it was time to buy one for myself. I drive all over the Phoenix area and felt that a nav system was right for me. I spent about 2 hours comparing and came across the c580. For the price, $189, it is probably one of the best deals out there. It is extremely easy to use, install, setup, etc. I even received the 2009 map for free! The MSN feature is handy but not necessarily useful. I like that I can scan for gas stations really fast and even get pretty accurate prices. The only downside to this unit is that it cannot accept multiple destinations and create a route for you. You will have to get the 7-series Nuvi for that. (500 bucks????) All-in-all, this is a great unit for first-timers like myself and someone who has already owned previous versions of navigation devices.

Not worth the Aggravation 2008-07-18

When I first got this GPS the first week it worked great! Quick set-up, very user friendly, large screen with bright colors...it just worked flawless. Until...and I mean until about a week later it just decides to stop working. So I'm looking at this thing like, " ok, now what?" So I decide to thumb through the manual to see if maybe I've done anything wrong. I read that there's a reset button and even after trying to reset the darn thing, it still didn't work. Apparently this GPS on occasion just shuts down. It says it in the manual. It says it has temporary power outages. How freaking convenient when you need the darn thing and it does this! I personally don't feel like blowing through couple hundred dollars for something that might not always work...I don't know about you? Not to mention, unfortunately for me, the MSN Direct wasn't in my area (but I didn't buy this for that reason). The other bad thing about this GPS is that its rather bulky. Grant it, I knew that before I bought it but keep in mind, its a pain in the butt to have because it cannot sustain extreme temperatures therefore you must remove the GPS every time you have a heat wave or a real freeze. The GPS will shut down. So where the heck am I going to put this big thing...in my back pocket? They must work on developing a thinner version. After this one failed on me I decided to return it for a replacement...I was hoping I just got a bad apple. Turns out, the second one was just as bad repeating the same problems. I called Garmin and they couldn't even help me. So best bet, buy another gps .... bare in mind also, places like Best Buy have terrible return policies on electronics...this is just in case you go there.

One of the Most Unbelievable Devices 2008-07-16
I received my StreetPilot yesterday and by evening all phases were working. It does all that the descriptions tell us about and couldn't be easier to set up. My Motorola phone works great with the Bluetooth.
