Editorial Review
Those old photo frames atop your dresser, desk, nightstand, and on your walls are vignettes of memories captured as prints in the era of film cameras. The digital-camera makes available a technology where photos don't have to be displayed as prints. They're displayed on screen, much like that of a TV set or a computer monitor. This frame uses LCD flat-panel technology and, at 2-1/4" deep, fits almost anywhere a standard frame would. The difference - this frame is not limited to display only 1 or a few pictures. A digital picture frame can display dozens (if not hundreds) of images off a digital-memory card.
Here's a dandy way to display all those digital photos you're accumulating. Display one or all (in slideshow mode) directly from an SD, MMC, xD, or CompactFlash memory card. It's a great way to view your favorites on a table or on a wall - just like a regular picture frame. Yet COBY DP882 adds a unique feature. It has built-in speakers so you can play MP3 and WMA music files from your memory cards. You can even create photo slideshows with music. The DP882 has a USB port that lets you play photos stored on digital media drives. Its LED backlit screen delivers bright images for viewing in almost any situation.
This is a perfect frame to give to your parents and grandparents. Let them see pictures of you all the time from a memory card you provide them. It has a dual-volt AC adapter for international capability. Plays Most MP4 and AVI Video Files from Digital Cameras Photo Slideshow with or without Music AV Output for play through with Home Theater Systems SD - MMC - xD - CF Card Slots Full-Size USB Port for use with Flash Memory Drives USB Port for Fast File Transfers Integrated Stereo Speakers Interchangeable Faceplate (Black or White) to match your decor Detachable Stand Table use or Wall Mountable

Good stuff; can be improved 2008-09-02
Nice picture quality. The look n feel of the hardware is great.
However, the thin plastic covering on the screen (which I believe is meant for protection) formed air bubbles which ruined picture quality. I wish it had a better covering.

Product short-commings not reflected in price 2008-08-19
Not stated anywhere in the manual - if you are using a USB flash card that has more than 2004 pictures, - some pictures will never be displayed. The frame will display only the first 2004 pictures.

ALSO the random shuffle mode is not really random at all, the same pictures will be cycled over and over like 1st, 5th, 8th, etc, but other pictures will never get displayed.

Customer technical support is rude (they do not even pretend to be polite and hang up on you if you ask questions tey do not know the answers to) and they are not knowledgable. I am an experienced computer engineer and my opinion is that this piece of electronics is not a quality product, however the price is quite high and does not reflect the short-commings.

bad machine 2008-06-20
I purchased the Coby 10" digital photo frame with a 4 gb card (shown as an accessary). It did not work and I sent it back, but Coby made me pay freight both ways. I received a new one and it also didn't work. I went out and purchased another 4gb card and it still didn't work. Now they won't even answer my e-mails for support.

digital photo frame. 2008-06-08
The product was meant as a wedding gift for the son of a friend of mine overseas. They arevery satisfied with it.

Best (almost) Mothers Day present 2008-06-05
My wife loved this "gift" from her 3 year old and 7 month old daughter as we were able to put all 2400+ photos of them on it, but the were some glitchy things irked me.

1. I had to restart the frame in order to get the most recently added photos to be recognized.

2. There isn't a "repeat all" function so after it goes through all the picts, it goes back to the menu and you have to hit slide show again.

3. Since the card was formatted in FAT16 you could put all the pictures directly on to the root of the card and instead created a subfolder.

4. Reformatting the card to FAT32 caused the frame to be sluggish and corrupted several photos.

Coby DP102 - You will love it. 2008-06-02
I am very please with the Coby DP102. This product has many options to display your photos, videos and play your songs. Easy set up. It allows you to take the memory card right from your camera and transfer the images to another type of mediain the frame, love that option. You don't need the pc (you still have that option of course).
It has great graphic display of images.Even improves some of my bad photos.
Sound quality is nice. Good volume, clear, not tinnie.

Only problems I have had are the remote is slow to communicate with the frame and difficulty changing the frame ring (color-black or white). Easy to clean. Very please with the pricing and quality.

Would recommend and/or re-purchase.

Limited to 2000 files, do not waste money buying 2GB cards 2008-05-23
Just want to confirm that COBY's guys cannot count above 2000. This is their limit for number of files they will display. I bought two frames for my relatives and wasted money buying number of 2GB SD cards for them. Copied about 4000 pics to each SD, fortunately, before sending the frames checked the pics on them... Bummer! Only first 2000 are visible on each. Verified with a USB drive - same! Why didn't they mention this limit in the specs?
Other than that, this is a good frame.

Good product 2008-05-19
This product is good, I bought it because I wanted to view both landscape and portrait sized photographs. The sound is too clear, even at the highest volume. It supports wide voltage ranges.
I would have been more satisfied, if it had SDHC support, and the frame a bit more stylish.

Digital Frame 2008-05-14
This product is an absolutely great value. It is feature rich and the big screen is eye popping.

Review: ... "Click! The No Nonsense Guide to Digital Cameras" is misnamed. It covers a lot more than just cameras. In a couple of hundred pages, it includes using a scanner and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 to rescue faded, damaged family photos, the basic guidelines to good picture taking, how to use Elements 2 to improve your digital photos, and how to print and preserve your pictures for the ages. White, the author of the bestseller "How Computers Work," knows how to pack a lot of helpful, understandable information in a brief no nonsense book.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."

The fact is a camera’s megapixel rating is only a measure of how many pixels (photosensitive sites) an image sensor has…. An image sensor is simply one component of an entire system that produces a digital photograph… So resist buying into the megapixel hype when you’re choosing a digital camera. From Chapter 1
