Fantastic Router

High quality interface with many top shelf features, this is not a watered down router. 11n speed is very nice, and the range is great. An added bonus is the ability to share disks and printers on your LAN.
Excelente Producto

Signal range is mediocre.

The signal strength of this product is mediocre and I have experienced many dropped signals. I have an Intel Core Duo iMac and it is not able to take advantage of the n wireless configuration. Apple requires an Intel 2 Core Duo iMac in order for this to happen. Additionally, this is the Extreme that does not have the 1 gigabit ports, so even with the wired configuration, this router is lacking. I'm going to return this and find something much less expensive.

I'm getting my Amaz"on", late Friday night (pathetic...) and see that there must have been a bad batch because a fistful of dudes here are upset. Not to rub it in, but my experience with this base station has been very, very good. I love it. I especially like the configuration software (which I also use to tweak a couple AP Expresses). The NYTs tech podcast demonstrated far better reception and thru put using this over other 802.11n stations. Oh, well I am a lucky one.
Very easy to use.

Apple's new base station is much much easier to use than its predecessors. Also, setting up a wireless network with other apple products (such as the airport extreme) connecting to the base station is also a breeze. I had no trouble setting up my network and it took only a matter of minutes. The one downfall is the range. It still has been difficult finding a wireless base station that can transmit as far as I need. Hence, the 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, a great buy, especially for homes in the 2000 sq. ft. and under range.
It Works, Installation's a Breeze

I am elderly, know little about puters and nothing about wireless routers, live in mountains and had to rely solely on tech support. I researched the product, found this one to be best, and Apple walked me through a simple installation. Now I go anywhere in the house with my laptop and visit my grandchildren and have the capacity for more STUFF that I will ever need.
Works Like A Charm

It was a little difficult to get it working with the AT&T 2-Wire modem. I had to call in to both Apple and AT&T before I got it working. I still am not sure how it started working but it does and it works as expected. I have a hard drive connected to the network and I am very pleased with the higher level of security.
AirPort Extreme Base Station withOUT AirTunes
2007-10-28
I have to admit it's my mistake, reading so many reviews turning pages between Airport extreme and Airport express I opted for the newsiest and the most expensive model (Airport Extreme Base station). Did not realize though that apple chose not to add a small tiny hole called "Air Tunes" which was the main reason for me to replace my still very good Netgear. Now I have to spend another $100 to buy Airport express with Air Tunes to get my very expensive! Wi-Fi network in-order.
For the ease of installations, speed and quality I am giving it 4 stars.
Not the current version of AirPort Extreme
2007-09-18
Please take note - this is not the current version of the AirPort extreme, it DOES NOT support Gigabit Ethernet. The current version is here Apple MB053LL/A AirPort Extreme Base Station (New).
Very Good Router

It is a very good Wirelees Router. I'm a PC user and I had a D-link router, but when I saw that this AirPort have the new n band and the facility to install a printer or an external disk, I decided to chenge and was fine. Work's fine also in Windows Vista.
