I bought this at walgreens for $5.99. i was gonna buy the organic root stimulator relaxer cuz i'd heard good stuff about that one and that was on sale there for only a dollar more so i picked it up. But then i saw this and decided to try it just to see how it works. if it doesn't work, i'd try the organic root instead.
All i can say is a big WOW!!!
I have tried several relaxers, i keep trying different one's to see which one can straigten my hair. With my previous relaxers, i use the full container for a retouch and my hair doesn't gt straight. it still feels coarse but not as coarse as before and everyone can tell i relaxed it myself.
Not this one. My hair is soooo straight it is unbelievable. The first time i went to my hairdresser, she had a shock and exclaimed when she put water in my hair then she went "your hair locked up." Yup, my hair get soo tangled when you wash it that i usually have to cut it to get those dreadlocks out so it's uneven and my hairdresser noticed that. I end up loosing soo much hair. MY hair did not get tangled while using this system. I guess that's part of the anti breakage technology.
I did lose some hair, not as much as i usually lose while relaxing my hair. i think i lost like 6-8 times LESS HAIR. My hair usually comes out (when i comb) from the root with somethng a the root and i just realized it's dandruff. I'm sure the few strands i lost are the hair that were waiting to come out. when i used the blow dryer that's in the form of an ironic curling brush, the hair on it was so insignificant i had to bring it closer to see them. Usually, the whole thing gets saturated with hair, i have to keep taking the huge pile off while i curl and blow dry at the same time. i'm sure i can count how many strands of hair i lost with this one. I had my hiar cut 3 weeks ago and i realized i had no breakage at the ends. The ends look like i got it cut yesterday. So it really doesn't break your hair.
My hair is now very manageable, i did this all in like an hour and i didn't press my hair cuz my conair broke and i've been braiding my hair for some time and even when i stopped, i go to the salon to get my hair done. With this relaxer i don't think u need a flat iron straighter. The secret is to get Motions oil sheen and conditioning spray while you blow dry with a brush and it would look like you pressed it, of course without the burn and hair damage that comes with it.
If you leave it in for the 25 minutes suggested for coarse hair, you should not experience any burn. I felt some little sting of a burn in the back where i first applied it after about 37minutes and no i didn't use any protective vaseline for my scalp. The relaxer stayed in the front part of my hair for only 20minutes and each part of my hair looks soo super straight.
All in all, i think i found a way of getting my hair done for $6 instead of taking the subway to go to someplace, spend over 3hours there and be charged $40. And for the time and no hassle it took, this is much better.
I think you should give it a try. i shed a lot of hair everyday and my hair breaks so easily. The few strands i lost weren't broken strands but hair that came off like my hair usually does from the dandruff. For the fact that it doesn't burn, doesnt' get your hair tangled and you really loose an insignificant amount of hair, get it!
For the price and the results, this relaxer does a lot more than it says it does.
UPDATE: I have combed my hair since i relaxed it and i have not had a single hair on the comb. I am in soo much shock. I mean i used to lose soo much hair just from combing. I kept combing through several times just to see if anything comes of and there's nothing on my blouse or on the comb. I am SOOOO sticking to this relaxer.
