Great Gaming Headset 2008-07-24
Great headset when you have these on you can hear every footstep. Up down behind you to the left. Because when you turn them up you don't have just the guns shooting so loud that it's impossible to listen. Very comfortable to wear, your ears fit into the headset which cancels out the noise in the background. I couldn't even hear my door bell ring while playing! The only con I would say would be your ears get hot because there isn't too much ventilation but that's to key to canceling out background noise so its not really a con.

Promising... but... 2008-06-19
I've ordered this headset a month or two ago, and within the first day it went from sounding "alright" to sounding terrible. Severe distortion plagued every beat of music... so I returned the headset and got it replaced... same exact thing happened... i'm now on the 3rd set... this ones going back to get me a logitech headset... this is the worst $40 i've spent on a computer headset... on the plus side, theyre very comfortable... and look very nice... but thats about it...

Great for Gaming 2008-05-18
I had been doing my research on a new pair of headphones since accidentally tripping over (and breaking) my old Sennheiser 202's. I consider myself to equally be an audiophile (albeit, on a budget) and a gamer. Based on the reviews of the regular (non-"Professional Series") model of these headphones, I decided to give these a shot.

Gaming is great and it really does sound like 5.1 surround. The immersion is fantastic and really does change the gaming experience greatly. The quality of the build is very good and they are very comfortable on my head. The headphones do completely enclose my ears. The inline volume control is handy if you're not plugging the headphones into a speaker's headphone jack and are already using the speaker's volume control. It also has a switch to toggle the mic on/off on the same inline control.

As for music, I don't feel that my needs here are met. For the occasional listener (or one without high expectations), these should fit the bill just fine. Personally, I think my previous Sennheiser headphones offered vastly superior sound in this area and now I'm considering another Sennheiser pair or Audio Technica's for music. I won't deduct a star for this since these were never advertised for anything other than gaming. It should be noted though for anyone who also wants good music reproduction.
